Stephen Dunn/Getty Images (Bleacher Report) With European home grown talent continuing to rise in
its value, more and more Europea clubs will be searching for alternatives to high priced local
boys.
In the next year or so, more and more young American based talent, whether it is North or South
American, will be flowing over to Europe.
Bryn Lennon/Getty Images(Bleacher Report) While Craig Bellamy has always been one to do the talking
on the pitch with both his play and his mouth, at times, he will be hoping to leave behind the
troubles that he had once before while at Liverpool.
He joined the club on the back of controversy, and left the club after only a season believed to be
due to a separate interclub controversy.

Seattle Sounders FC set or tied several records en route to destroying Columbus Crew 6-2 at
CenturyLink Field.
Michael Regan/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Liverpool are only two hours from facing off against
Bolton. With the Reds having injuries to Glen Johnson, Raul Meireles and Steven Gerrard they are
still not quite up to full strength.
However, they are much stronger than last season and have proven that.
Michael Steele/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)The Reds enjoyed finally getting a victory against
Arsenal last weekend, and during they week they advanced to the next round of the Carling Cup.
Bolton Wanderers also advanced this week in the Carling Cup, but they suffered a frustrating 3-2
loss to Manchester City at the weekend.
David Ramos/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Barcelona triumphed last season for their second trophy in
three seasons. However, their reign at the top is about to be tested as today set the groups for
the 2011-12 edition of the UEFA Champions League.
The Group Stage start on September 13, with Groups E, F, G and H all starting the first match day.
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)It is a hard thing to quantify, what makes one a loser
that is. There is no real grounds for the label of a loser other than what your personal beliefs
hold you to take as such.
In making the decisions for the inclusions in lists such as this some cases completely solve
themselves for you.
Gabriele Maltinti/Getty Images (Bleacher Report)Hundreds of transfer rumors have come and gone this
summer. There has been no lack of excitement built up by fans, only to have their hearts crushed by
a move that just did not happen for their club.
So many moves remain on the table, but the majority of the major deals look likely to have been
done for the summer.
Michael Regan/Getty Images (Bleacher Report)Liverpool have splashed a load of cash since their new
owners took over from Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
With more than £100 million having been invested, if you combine their summer signings with those
brought in during January there are many, many high hopes for Kenny Dalglish's side.
Manuel Queimadelos Alonso/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)The arrival of Andre-Villa Boas midsummer
threw a short term wrench in Chelsea Football Club's transfer agenda as he needed time to asses his
squad and decide what direction he wanted to take moving forward.
He has a selection issue up front among Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and young
Daniel Sturridge who had a superb loan move to Bolton Wanderers in the second part of the Blues'
previous campaign.
Michael Steele/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Bolton Wanderers play host to Manchester City in less
than 24 hours and with it comes a lot of speculation. Both clubs completed 4-0 beatings of freshly
promoted teams last weekend.
Along with that both teams started the year off at the top of the table for the first time in
years.
Alex Livesey/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Manchester City started off their new campaign with a
bang on multiple levels.
Their team gave a clinic in the last 33 minutes as they scored four goals to rout newly promoted
Swansea City in front of a packed house.
It was also nice to start the first Campaign of the Etihad Stadium with a victory, and Roberto
Mancini will be happy to have earned such.
Stu Forster/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Alan Pardew's newest players will get their first taste of
a Tynewear Derby as the Magpies travel to the Stadium of Light to face off against Steve Bruce's
new-look Black Cats.
Both clubs have significant changes to their teams rosters, with Sunderland having added almost a
dozen new players so far.
Shaun Botterill/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Liverpool are out to achieve their first win of the
season, and a weakened Arsenal Gunners side looks to be on the menu.
The Reds should have taken a 2-1 victory at home on opening day, while Arsenal slumped to an away
draw at St. James Park against Newcastle United.
Ian Walton/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Players often bear the brunt of fan criticism, but managers
take their fair share of vitriol as well. There's no discounting the effect a managerial change can
have on a club: it can galvanize a sputtering side, instilling a quiet confidence that bodes well
for the future.
Clint Hughes/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)Although the Reds have splashed some serious cash in the
January and Summer windows respectively this year, it appears there is no end in sight at the
moment with the owners pushing for a Champions League or bust campaign this season.
The extra time to focus on the league and domestic trophies will allow them more time for honing
their strategy with so many new faces, but some believe it is hampering their ability to attract
top talent to the club.
Shaun Botterill/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)The first week is now in the books following
Manchester City's bashing of Swansea City. The Citizens ended the week on a high note as it was a
clean game with no cards handed out making it perhaps the friendliest game of the week.
However, other matches around the league saw tempers flair, and some of the usual suspects right in
the thick of things as the red cards have already started to pile up.
Thats it, once more and you are done sir!
Shaun Botterill/Getty Images (Bleacher Report)The sending off of players is always a hot topic the
English Premier League as it is the most physical league in the world according to many different
sources.
Pace, aggression and passion are the fuel to the fire of the English game and it is no secret that
the physicality of the English leagues as a whole make them the most watched of any league in the
world as a whole collective.
Here's an slideshow of the progress made so far at the site of the new Dynamo Stadium. There
will be steel!

Ian Walton/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)The FA Community Shield provided just the kind of match
that the English Premier League needed to build this coming weekends opening fixtures.
Manchester City stormed out of the gates to take a 2-0 advantage into the break, and nearly ruined
my Manchester United victory prediction from last Thursday.
Denis Doyle/Getty Image (Bleacher Report)While some of these may not have been as embarrassing at
first, in the time since they have become much more laughable as in most cases the replay footage
does not lie.
The truth comes out when you get put into slow motion, and with so many to choose from it is hard
to even stop at 14.
Clive Brunskill/Getty Image (Bleacher Report)After watching Liverpool's youngsters come in and
prove their quality last season, it is on the minds of many Reds supporters, just how far their
academy starlets can go.
It has been interesting to dig deeper into the academy players, and some of those that are already
starting to push their reputation in the first team.
Claudio Villa/Getty Image (Bleacher Report) The world of football has seen its fair share of
crazies over the years. Currently one of the biggest headcases of the current generation is
Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, whom will be discussed later.
In the spirit of one of the newest leading members of the headcases, it seems necessary to take a
look back at some of those who have come before him.
Alex Livesey/Getty Images (Bleacher Report) Lionel Messi has stolen the Champion's League spotlight
this year as he leads the competition with 11 goals as Pep Guardiola's Barcelona team heads into
the final against Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson.
Messi's two goals against archrival Real Madrid in the first leg of their eventual triumph were
what allowed the Blaugrana to advance, and he will be keen to continue his success this year and
hopefully help his side raise the Champions League Trophy once more.

Michael Regan/Getty Images With the hubbub of the Royal Wedding taking the Internet by storm, it
seems only right to talk about the favorite past time of England, Football.
In honor of the pending nuptials, I thought a look into the favorite football clubs of the royal
family seemed like a great piece of gossip for all those obsessed with Kate and William.
Took me long enough to get this up.
Here's the slideshow of the second day (training day).

We were fortunate enough to have a group of "Friends of the Nest" on the ground in Portland this
past Sunday. Tom Faust did us the favor of capturing some video footage, including a pre-game
predictions from the Thirsty Lion, half time comments and even the equalizing penalty by DeRo. In
addition to the video, which you can view above, Tom took some shots around the ground and from his
vantage point close to the Timbers Army.

Who Will Fill the future Ranks of Liverpool following the Summer Window?
by Thomas Atzenhoffer on The Bleacher Report
April 18, 2011
Alex Livesey/Getty Image The summer transfer window is quickly approaching, and with so many names
in the press over the past few months as possible targets for the Reds, it seems like it would be
prudent to try and weed out the ones that are actually feasible.
