When the New England Revolution and Montreal Impact meet up at Gillette Stadium on Sunday night,
they will be looking for two very different outcomes. The Revolution will try to end a five-game
winless streak and keep alive their extremely slim and quickly shrinking playoff hopes, while
Montreal will be looking to build on a modest two game winning run and to help close the five-point
gap between them and the fifth and final playoff spot in the East.
Stephen McCarthy (concussive-like symptoms) was upgraded to probable in Friday's injury
report.
The New England Revolution will be facing a team that is eerily similar to them when they play
Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night. Both teams have veteran goalkeepers, capable defenses, and
a variety of players that handle the scoring burden.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. The New England Revolution will try to extend their overall unbeaten streak to
six games when they host Toronto FC at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night.
I think we can all agree that this was a game to forget. There are no excuses this time. No
narrow pitch or early red card to blame. This one was a winnable game, for the most part, but I do
not think that the Revs deserved to win it. To be fair, I don't think Dallas did either; a point a
piece would have been a just end to this match.

The New England Revolution will look to kick-off their season on the right foot when they take
on the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday night. The Revolution already have
momentum from a successful preseason in which they compiled a 6-0-1 record against MLS and
collegiate opposition.
In getting back from vacation, the Portland Timbers made things difficult for me by releasing a
slew of news including 2013 ticket prices, a change to their pitch, and a new coach. While we won't
officially meet Caleb Porter until December when he is introduced to the media, there's certainly a
lot to be pleased about.
San Jose hopes to extend their lead in the standings with a win in Vancouver this weekend.

Don't blink folks, this week is going by fast. If you didn't notice there was a slew of games
last night and they'll be another group of games this weekend. MLS laughs at the dog-days of summer
with all of these games.
The midweek slew of games turned out a small profit for my Fantasy Manager squad WVH AC.
A decent 35 points. Better than the game average so that is something to hang my hat on.
A bunch of 2′s and 3′s across the board. Montreal's Patrice Brenier was the big get this
round while Chris Wondowloski was quieted once again by FC Dallas for the second time in two
weeks.

After a slew of games last night in Major League Soccer, we get to quickly move into the weekend
portion of Week 14. Just as it were a week ago, we'll have six games on Saturday and two on Sunday
to cap off a busy, busy week in MLS.
Tuesday's third round Lamar Hunt US Open Cup action provided American soccer fans a breathtaking
amount of upsets as Davids slew Goliaths repeatedly from the East Coast to the Rocky Mountains. Â
Seven MLS clubs were eliminated from the tournament Tuesday by 2nd, 3rd and even 4th division
American clubs in what had to be one [.
Though the Rapids found themselves swimming against the current, they prevailed and dealt theÂ
Union their first ever home opener loss. For the Union faithful, the only thing more depressing
than two hard losses in an as many games is the fact that this one didn't look like a loss anywhere
but on the scoreboard.
Premier League 2012-13: Five key opening day talking points is a post from: Just Football
To fireworks, fanfare and an array of messages under shirts, the Premier League is back for
another season. Here are five key talking points from an entertaining weekend:
1) Goal difference could be huge in the relegation scrap
Four teams likely to be in a relegation scrap at the end of the year have already accumulated
significant goal differentials in their opening matches.
The 2012/13 English Premier League kicks off this Saturday with a slew of new kits taking the
field. Among them are the Umbro 2012/13 home and away jerseys of reigning...
It's hard to really be mad the wake of West Brom's victory over Liverpool at Anfield
disappointed, sure, and maybe a little PTSD-ish as the hosts yet again wasted an infinite number of
chances to take the lead early or draw level late.
Another day, another slew of new names, yet, still no new signings. Milan's utterly failed transfer
campaign to date has been duly noted by its fans in the most telling of ways. Only 15,000 have
signed on as season ticket holders. To give some perspective on how bad this is, Sampdoria – now
playing in [.
While the title race has been decided, there is still the matter of a Champions League spot, two
Europa League berths and two relegation places are to be claimed or avoided in what promises to be
a nerve-wracking finale to the La Liga season on Sunday.
Here are some of the stories to follow Sunday in Spain.

Europa League berths and two relegation places are to be claimed or avoided in what promises to be
a nerve-wracking finale to the La Liga season on Sunday.
Here are some of the stories to follow Sunday in Spain.
Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the
season after four years of trophy collecting. Though everything from sitting in second place after
three straight La Liga titles and losing to Chelsea in the Champions League semifinals to the many,
grueling encounters with Real Madrid and the confrontational Jose Mourinho have been blamed for
Guardiola's exhaustion, Pep says it wasn't any of those things.
Many times I've consideredwriting a piece on this and then discarded the idea, deciding it better
not toget into something so controversial. But now it's gone beyond the point where Ican take it. I
don't even have the time to be writing this but I am so infuriatedright now that I have to do this,
to vent everything.
Andres Iniesta got married to his long-term partner Xavi Anna Ortiz in a big ol' castle over the
weekend and an endless slew of footballing talent turned out for the occasion; with European and
World champions, Barca teammates past and present and even club president Sandro RosellÂ
congregating in Tarragona for the wee fella's big day.
We seem to have enjoyed a real slew of looooooong-range boomers recently (not least this
humdinger from AIK's Alexander Milosevic), but Stefan Ishizaki's awesome effort for
Elfsborg in their 2-0 away win over Orebro in the Swedish Allsvenskan yesterday.
That's just one of the things Ben Olsen had to say after his team lost last week to the
Philadelphia Union. The loss ended DC United's run in this year's US Open Cup, which has seen a
slew of MLS sides crash out to lower-division opposition.
You can follow all of the action from tonight's friendly between Harrisburg City Islanders and
the Philadelphia Union with a live chat from HersheyPark hosted by PSP's Eli Pearlman-Storch. The
chat starts at 6:45pm.
Brian Carroll says of tonight's friendly, "I am not sure who we plan on playing and who they
plan on playing, but all I know is, no matter what, it's going to be a tough-fought game, both in
the friendly and when we play them in the Open Cup.
After a spending a good couple of months releasing a steady slew of salacious soundbites and
titillating Twitter teasers (including telling all and sundry that he was house hunting in
Cheshire), Lille's queen of tarts, Eden Hazard, seems to have finally decided which club he's to
join this summer with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea thought to be the three names
vying for his services.
This morning, we received this epic artwork in the mail from Alex in the UK.
Thanks to Alex, you know what to expect in the following weeks. After Sergio
Ramos, it's now time for a slew of Mancini Memes such as this
one to hit us all.
Sunderland pair Stephane Sessegnon and Lee Cattermole have been issued a cumulative total of
seven game's worth of suspensions following their red cards in (and after) yesterday's ugly
Tyne-Wear derby at the Sports Direct Northeast Regional HQ Stadium a match, we'd just like to
mention, that was refereed nigh-on impeccably by Mike Dean.
It was, as you will no doubt be aware by now, the twentieth anniversary of the start of the
Premier League next month, but what will likely be forgotten in the slew of retrospectives is the
fact that just three days after the behemoth which has come to eat English football in that
intervening two decades the Football League saw its last to date resignation during the season.
Football often gets an absolute kicking in the wider world, for the behaviour of players,
officials, fans and authorities, and plenty of times the criticism is fully justified. This season
has seen a slew of unsavoury incidents, from racism to homophobia, from corrupt officials to rival
fans singing despicable songs about misfortunes that have befallen players or their families.
Speaking candidly to the Evening Standard, Andy Gray has admitted that he considered killing
himself in the months after both he and Richard Keys were sacked by Sky Sports when a slew of the
pair's sexist remarks were made public back in January of 2011.
