It was not too long ago, in the 2007/2008 where Nicklas Bendtner netted his first goal for Arsenal
in a 7-0 rout of Slavia Prague in the Champions league, then he had a loan spell at Birmingham
before officially being part of Arsenal's first team. Since Bendtner was in the first team, he has

With football team's now staging naked ballets in training and employing unicorns to canter down
rainbows and deliver the matchball before kick-off, it's perhaps understandable that fans at Slavia
Prague's match against Viktoria Plzen over the weekend thought they were being treated to a bit of
half-time entertainment when a rogue parachutist plummeted from nowhere and landed on the pitch
during the interval.
Plzeň, Thrills and Bellyaches Viktoria Plzeň 4-1 Viktoria Zizkov (23:10:11) The last match of
the 2011 EFW Oktoberfest and the chance to out with a bang. As we were based in Prague we could
have opened our city maps and headed down Easy Street to Slavia Prague, but where is the thrill in
that? Especially as Slavia's ground was sold to me as the Czech equivalent of Southampton's St
Mary's Stadium
The Best Things In Life Dukla Prague 1-3 Jablonec (22:10:11) So, things we learnt from watching
football in Prague: Slavia Prague are the big boys but Sparta Prague are bigger. Bohemians 1905 are
the cool guys - saved by fans who paid off a portion of the clubs debts - whereas FK Bohemians
Praha are the villains of the piece; buying out the logo and using the name Bohemians even

I tried to write about the game in the immediate aftermath last night and got absolutely
nowhere, but to be honest an extra 24 hours hasn't made it make any more sense. You can be prepared
for most things as a blogger a close fought win, a thumping triumph, an unlucky defeat, a poor
display, but now and then something extraordinary comes along and all of a sudden you're lost for
words.
Trabzonspor will take on SL Benfica of Portugal on Wendsday....
Turkish Super League runners-up Trabzonspor will play an away UEFA Champions League qualifying
match with SL Benfica of Portugal on Wednesday.
The first leg of the Trabzonspor v SL Benfica UEFA Champions League third qualifying round will

It's the time of year again, and as I count down the days (38) until the Serie A season starts,
we have to entertain ourselves with pre-season friendlies. Meaningless games where showboating is
not encouraged and where provincial sides lose by double figures. So I thought I would do a
round-up:
Inter flew out to Germany to play Galatasaray in a match that saw Luca
Castellazzi stretchered-off with a head injury.
Best XI: Under-21 European Championship Team of the Tournament 2011 is a post from: Just
Football
As is custom, Just Football kept a keen eye on proceedings out in
Denmark at the 2011 Under-21 European Championships. We put together a list of
players to watch beforehand; now without further ado we present to you our Team of the
Tournament.
It's been a funny old week in Planet Tottenham. After the Modric mess of last weekend, it's all
gone slightly quiet on that particular front. After the startling admission from Moddle that he
wanted to jump ship and climb aboard the Villas Boas revolution a Stamford Bridge and Daniel Levy's
frank rebuttal of those plans, we were all expecting further fireworks.
Anyone up for watching five matches today?
We're nearing the end of the lull between the end of the European club season and the start of
the major international tourney of this summer (Copa America, which starts a week from Friday) but
the three remaining competitions we've been tracking converge today, yielding up five matches to
watch: the semifinal matches in both the UEFA U21 European Champions and the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and
the 2nd leg of the Copa Libertadores final between Santos and Peñarol.
