Sky TV were quick to give the champagne to Scott Parker last night and while it's hard to argue
with that assessment, were there other, more worthy candidates at the heart of Spurs defence?
Speaking after the game, TV pundit Gary Neville pointed to a previous ‘soft centre' in the
Tottenham side which would have seen us lose a match like that in the past and that's why he agreed
with the Parker decision.
It seems that a lot of people are not talking about football these days. Whether it be racism,
gayism (ok not sure if that's an actual word) or other outrageous incidents not even related to the
beautiful game. Here are a few things which I think should be brought back/or removed to help bring
the English game back to the glory days of the 90s.
A rather anaemic press release on Rangers' website seems to have set the Twitter world all
a-flutter.
The club will join with STV to explore "commercial" opportunities.
Two businesses, each negotiating their own challenges in a changing world, form a vague union that
they hope will end profitably for both.

Wally meets...Sky TV presenter and Hartlepool United fan Jeff Stelling
Christmas – there's a good nine-letter word for Jeff Stelling to sign off as the host of
Countdown. His last episode in the chair of daytime TV's popular game of anagrams, conundrums and
brain-teasers went out last week with pouting sidekick Rachel Riley in tears and his beloved
Hartlepool United in freefall.

It's sometimes easy to laugh at Yanks. I remember watching a pulsating FA Cup tie at Stamford
Bridge in 1995 when Manchester United roared into a miraculous 5-0 lead against Chelsea only to
concede three goals in the last twenty minutes, leaving them desperate to hang on for the 5-3 win.
As the huge crowd drew breath at the end a lone American voice was heard saying, 'Wow, that was
some game!
A personal view -
One story has been suffocating all other news in Britain this week - the phone hacking furore
surrounding Rupert Murdoch's media empire.
Journalists have been arrested, senior policemen have resigned, politicians of both main parties
are scrambling to deny their links to News International, Hugh Grant has led the prosecution and
tonight comes news of the sudden death of a whistleblower.
With Harry Redknapp having done a fairly decent job at Spurs, many football pundits have now
decided that he will be the man to take over the England job after the Euro 2012 tournament.
However, with Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti cruelly yet expectedly sacked yesterday by ruthless
owner Roman Abramovich, it has emerged that a shock contender for the Blues managerial job could
well be the man from Tottenham.
ROME — Brazil forward Alexandre Pato will miss the Copa America after injuring his right shoulder
in AC Milan's final match of the Serie A season. Pato was carried off on a stretcher in the 71st
minute of Sunday's 0-0 draw with Udinese. Milan physician Maurizio Gevi told Italy's Sky TV that

Wayne Rooney may or may not deserve the two match ban handed down by the FA for his outburst to a

*"Somebody's f**ked up big" were Andy Gray's famous last words, referring to the appointment of the
subsequently impressive Sian Massey to run the line at Wolves v Liverpool on Saturday. Now that
somebody who has messed up is him, as the face of Sky Sports is out of work after the station fired
their figurehead in a rare moment of sanity.
Imagine the scene. It's June 2018 and the World Cup finals are getting under way. England, the
hosts, have played their opening match an unconvincing 1-1 draw with Norway which has led the press
to question the tactics of their manager, Lord Beckham of Leytonstone but optimism is still high.
The nation settles down for the second game, being played between the two other teams in England's
group.
