It took a cool £8million to get the case to this stage, where a joyful Harry Redknapp walks
free from Southwark Crown Court and back to Tottenham and their title charge. Hardly a sensible use
of money?
While Arsenal fans will no doubt be crying into their free-trade cappuccinos, Sky Sports News
will no doubt be breathing a sigh of relief.

Finishing up in little more than an unbuttoned shirt and a cheeky smile at a sub-freezing Loftus
Road, the bloody scamps over at Sky Sports News had Chris Kamara switch around an item of clothing
every time they cut from the Soccer Saturday studio to the QPR-Wolves game.
There was a lack of real excitement during the final day of the 2012 January Transfer Window,
with none of the Premier League's big names on the move and a subsequent drop in spending from the
same day 12 months ago means the latest transfer window closed without much of a noise.
The speculation that ran wild from Sky Sports News reporters situated at Premier League grounds
became boring with attention being finally turned to actual fixtures that took place on the
night.
So another transfer window comes to a close. This unlike many others was surprisingly quiet,
mainly due to clubs now having to take into account UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
Another reason for the quiet was our gaffer's appearances in court seriously restricting his
ability to go on Sky Sports News every five minutes and tell the world which 'top top players' he
was looking at.

Anyone who has ever watched Sky Sports News on either August 31st or January 30th will already
be well acquainted with Jim White; the insufferable, eardrum-rupturing Scotch twat that covers the
deadline day vinegar strokes, booming away like a foghorn as, say, Bradley Orr arrives at Blackburn
for a routine medical, etc, etc.
When transfer deadline day rolls around, Sky Sports News' Jim White gets more excited than a
puppy attached to a leash made of bacon. So excited, in fact, that sometimes his mouth is so
overeager to spit out the latest transfer dealings that it creates a perfect sized opening for his
foot.

The Sky Sports News 'Babelcopter' takes to the skies once again!
What with it being Transfer Deadline Day and all, we diligent folks at Pies are going to
endeavour to keep you abreast of all the confirmed moves, rubber-stamped loans and the most goddamn
ludicrous rumours that crop up until the window shuts tonight or at least until we can't be arsed
any more.
OTP understands that none of these will happen It's the last day of the transfer window, and in
truth it has been shockingly quiet. Whether that means it will all kick off tonight remains to be
seen, but here are five things that certainly won't be happening: 1. Harry Redknapp's car window
leaning As unusual [.
It's here. Transfer deadline day. We'll be updating this post throughout the day with all the
latest transfer deals, rumours and humorous observations on Sky Sports News' coverage. Leave your
own rumours and reactions in the comments section below. 2.29pm: Spurs have an £18m bid for Loic
Remy rejected, according to Marseille's chairman.
Tomorrow may not be a very good day for Newcastle supporters. Demba Ba Liverpool after this
player? Last year we lost Andy Carroll to Liverpool in a shock £35M deal on the last day of
this window, and even Alan Pardew was not expecting that. Now David Craig of Sky Sports News is
reporting there are persistent rumors (that will not [.
Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam insists the club remain in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League
spot despite dropping down to seventh in the Premier League.
The Reds were held to yet another home draw against Stoke last weekend, their seventh at Anfield so
far this season.
Those dropped points mean the club have fallen out of the European places and are five points
adrift of Chelsea in the final Champions League position.
As Tony Fernandes appears the only Premier League chairman willing to put the golden nib of his
fountain pen to his cheque book, newspapers and sports channels alike struggle to satisfy the
footballing publics insatiable appetite for transfer talk. This has resulted in the arrival of
silly season appearing to be unavoidably upon us with rumours of Andy Carroll returning to
Newcastle and Didier Drogba moving to China.

Is everyone delighted with the return of the King?...
I am not so sure. Maybe it is the Gooner DNA in me that requires that I suffer even in triumph,
I must temper joy with regret but I just can't forget how we parted...

3PM Extra: Georgie Thompson special!
It's an extra special 3pm Extra today in honour of the 8th wonder of the world, Georgie
Thompson. Sky Sports News' most glamourous girl is hanging up her delectably low cut top for the
last time tonight before disappearing into the murky world of Formula 1.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has again defended Andy Carroll after accusing the media of
targeting the most expensive British footballer in history.
Ahead of a reunion with former club Newcastle on Friday, the record-breaking £35million striker
has endured a torrid 12 months in 2011 after moving to Anfield last January.
Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole has confirmed that he would like to make his loan move a permanent
one at the end of the season after a terrific first half of the year in Ligue 1.
Cole made the move to Lille at the start of the season after falling out of favour with Liverpool
boss Kenny Dalglish and has found a new lease of life in France.
So a few months after leaving Arsenal, Cesc Fabregas is already starting to talk about his
desire to one day return and play for the Gunners. The midfielder who is in amazing form for
Barcelona has had a great start to the La Liga season scoring 8 goals in 12 appearances.
Is it just me or was Arsenal holding down Fabregas from his real abilities?
Joe Cole has not ruled out a return to Liverpool but is enjoying his time on loan at Lille and
feels it would be 'logical' for him to stay with the French club.
Cole joined the Ligue 1 champions on a season-long loan deal over the summer and has caught the eye
with a series of impressive performances both in their domestic games and the UEFA Champions
League.

Tyldesley Lives In My Nipple' sketch?
This week sees the return of Thierry Henry to the Emirates and his training with our squad will
be wonderful experience. Plus the continuing goal streak of the reliant Robin van Persie who is not
a car with three wheels, but a luxury turbo charged supercar. Robin has now scored 38 goals and
trails only Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best striker in Europe.
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Galaxy for winning MLS Cup. There I said it. Can we just move
on already?
For those of you who watched the game, I'm sorry. It wasn't exactly an enthralling game was it?
Of course most MLS Cup matches aren't so I suppose it really was no surprise. Still, Beckham has
his trophy, LA finally proved they can win the big enchilada so good for them.
How can you not love Queens Park Rangers this year (in a fantastic Premiership campaign
nonetheless).
Huh?
They head up back to the top flight.
They procure the ever-docile Joey Barton.
Armand Traore behaves like Jose Boswingwa on mushrooms with a shaved unibrow he shares the
assist lead with Barton for a grand total of.
Liverpool Draw Chelsea in Carling Cup
Liverpool have drawn Chelsea away in the Carling Cup quarter-final. The fixture is yet to be
given a date but will kick off in the week beginning the 28th October. Phil Thompson made the draw
live on Sky Sports News, and his former club will have to continue their fine form away from home
in the competition if they wish to progress into the semi-final stage.

Stewart Downing hopes England can give manager Fabio Capello a good send-off by winning the
European Championship in Poland and Ukraine next summer.
Italian boss Capello, who took charge of England in 2008, is set to step down after the Euros when
his contract with the Three Lions expires.
England international Downing hopes his side can ensure Capello exits on a high note by claiming
success at the Euros after a disappointing World Cup campaign last year.
The FA should look no further than Harry Redknapp when it starts the process of finding a successor
to Fabio Capello, Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has suggested.
Italian coach Capello will step down from one of the biggest positions in world football after Euro
2012 in Poland and Ukraine when his contract expires.
Steven Gerrard believes Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has proved himself a worthy candidate to
succeed Fabio Capello as England manager next year.
Capello will step down from the post after the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine next
summer, having taken the helm in 2008.
Three Lions midfielder Gerrard believes the Football Association should appoint an English manager
in his place, with Redknapp already tipped as a favourite for the role.

As much as we love it when ballers get heated (mostly because pushing and shoving can lead to
flashes of skin exposure), sometimes things get a bit too intense for our emotionally frazzle and
often drunk selves. Case in point: this past Saturday towards the end of Barcelona's 0-0 draw with
Sevilla when things got heated between Cesc Fabregas and Frederic Kanute.

In which Sky Sports News pundit Charlie Nicholas accidentally reveals the real reason that
Roberto Mancini was so pissed off with Carlos Tevez after the Bayern Munich debacle...
If Champagne Charlie's telling the truth here then it's yet more truly disgusting conduct on
Tevez's part the guy's out of control.
After a summer of transfer rumors about where will Carlos Tevez be playing this season, nobody
was willing to pay City's price for their former captain, and it appeared that Tevez was happy to
be returning to Manchester.
But in Munich tonight, the Carlos Tevez's relationship with Manchester City hit a low point as
Tevez refused to go into the game as a second half substitute.

I'm not a fan of Sky Sports; despite watching it more than I should. It's shallow and far too
excitable when covering the most mundane topic. I watch it anyway and it can be funny in seeing how
relentless they can be in self-promotion. What annoys me though is the punditry, and how bad it is
at times.

His name is Peter Martin, he works for Sky Sports News and we think he might just be a Falkirk
supporter judging by his reaction when Mark Millar scored a 93rd-minute free-kick to dump Rangers
out of the Scottish League Cup last night...
