Roberto Mancini has rubbished reports Manchester City are interested in signing Luis Suarez. Rumours have surfaced recently that the Sky Blues have lined up a £50 million raid in the January transfer window for the Uruguayan. "It is not true, I don't know," Mancini said. "For two weeks we talk about Monaco, after [Pep] Guardiola, after another manager, now Suarez, now Mario [Balotelli].
Man City's Vincent Kompany is out of the Carling Cup Semi-Final with Liverpool this
week.
The impressive defender was harshly sent-off in the FA Cup game v Man Utd yesterday.
Doesn't matter, we will take it.
We couldn't get past him the other week when we lost 3-0 to the Sky-blues, he stopped everything we
threw at Man City.

Swansea City at Manchester City (Fox Soccer Channel, 12:30 pm ET/9:30 am PT): The undefeated and third-place Sky Blues (5-3-0) welcome 10th-place Swansea City (3-2-3) to Etihad Stadium in a match where the hosts should coast to a win.
Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis has revealed that the club will engage in a major summer
planning project with the ambitions to help the club win two trophies that were claimed by their
rivals in blue this season.
While Manchester City's sky blues won the Barclays Premier League in dramatic fashion, Chelsea
defied the odds to finish a disappointing league season in style by bringing London its first ever
Champions League crown.
The very idea of an individual walkingout of the workplace for months, and then returning a hero
may seem preposterous, but inthe footballing world, it would seem things work a
littledifferently.
The return of Carlos Tevez seems to havebrought something to the Manchester City team that was
sadlylacking during his absence, and this doesn't just boil down tohis actual contribution on the
pitch.
1) Arsenal F.C. - Sure Arsenal will not win a trophy for the seventh consecutive year, but the
Gunners are on a high. Arsenal have won their last 4 games in the Premier League via the comeback,
the first time in the twenty year history of the league. Their last loss came nearly a month ago,
and they have seen Spurs' lead in the race for the last automatic Champions League position shrink
from 10 to just 1.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has shifted his focus back to the Premier League after
his side's Europa League exist yesterday. City who were eliminated from the competition on the away
goals rule will now have to wrestle the title from favourites United a task easier said than
done.
It was a sure thing that the millions of Pounds pumped into Manchester City would play a huge
role in their attempt to challenge for the Premier League title, but no one could have predicted
how successful they would be in such little time.
With the arrival of Roberto Mancini came big money signings, Champions League football and an FA
Cup ; all in the space of two years.
Pundits had been queuing up to say that Manchester City were at the top of a downward spiral.
The suggestion was that after going out of the UEFA Champions League, courtesy of Napoli and Bayern
Munich, and then losing to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the wheels were starting to come off the
great Manchester City roller coaster of 2011.

I would like to start by congratulating Manchester City FC for producing a resounding victory
for football.
By losing to Chelsea last night in the match amusingly referred to by someone on Twitter as "El
Cashico," they have helped demonstrate to the world just how amazing Arsenal's achievement in going
a season unbeaten really was.

The visit of the sky blues of Abu Dhabi to The Home of Football and the subsequent infiltration
of this very blog the day after got me thinking....
It is often stated that the top clubs are set to align themselves with various sponsors (whether

Manchester City escaped from Anfield with a point. The sky blues had taken the lead in the first
half, thanks to Vincent Kompany's shoulder. Appreciated fortune. Moments later Liverpool responded
in kind, thanks to an enormous deflection off of Joleon Lescott from Charlie Adam's wayward
shot.
Changing Future Roles In Response To The Silva Footballing Age - originally posted on

If there was a certain area in which Manchester City beat Manchester United so assuredly last
weekend, in one of the massive premier league results of recent times, it was the wings.
Where Ashley Young and Nani played the typical winger role, taking on Manchester City's
fullbacks, trying to win those one on one battles, Manchester City's wingers, James Milner and
David Silva, made a point of winning the game elsewhere certainly their involvement in the vital
goals that pushed the Sky Blues clear of United was a mastery of movement rather then setting out
to burn fullbacks.

Two-time A-League champion Sydney FC has pulled off the

Alessandro Del Piero.
The 37-year-old has signed a two-year deal worth $A2 million per season, making him the highest
paid player in any of Australia's four domestic football codes.
Sydney may have just provided the A-League with a life-saving shot in the arm after they secured
the signature of Italy legends Alessandro Del Piero.
The 37-year-old was a free agent after leaving Juventus in the summer and Sydney officials have
worked hard to bring this sensational deal to fruition.

shot in the arm.

It has been forty-eight years since Coventry City last played in the bottom two divisions of the
Football League. Under the managership of Jimmy Hill, they returned to the Second Division for the
first time in twelve years as champions of the Third Division, and three years later a further
promotion took the club into the First Division for the first time in its history.
Stage 3 of our examination of the financial architecture of the Football League's clubs sees us

has been allowed to develop both on and off the pitch.

After the disappointment of Saturday's result this was a welcome relief, a really welcome relief.
What could well prove a crucial three points to give us a seven point cushion over Coventry, we are
in a position now where the Sky Blues would need to get three wins or at least remain unbeaten 'til
the end of the season, with us not picking up a point.
`There was no hope left. No one even shouted at the players.' Conversation over post-match drinks
with a Coventry-supporting friend on Tuesday night was dominated by such sentiments. Toning down my
personal delight at City's 3-0 capitulation at Millwall, I murmured in sympathy. The draining away
of hope among the Sky Blues in the Den's North Stand was not dissimilar to the feeling elicited by
Following his contribution to our recent season preview, Coventry blogger Neil Allison has left his
excellent Sky Blues Blog with the childminder once again. This time, Neil files an early progress
report on much-fancied Leicester, who met Cov in 2011-12's first Saturday lunchtime affair.
Leicester City are a club with only one thing on their mind.
A ruddy balls up, I tell you. Just as I was getting into the spirit of making money each week, I got bitten by Lazio's inability to hold on to a half-time lead and Morocco's inability to score against Angola. Still Watford's 4-0 win (I could have been a great deal greedier on that one [...]

The European football season gets under way this month but this does not mean that no football
has taken place during July and August. The Copa America, The Women's World Cup, World Cups at U-17
and U-20 levels, as well as major domestic leagues including Brazil, Argentina, the MLS and the
J-League have all seen football action this summer.
