Paris (AFP) – There will be some jangling nerves as the Europa League group stage concludes on Thursday – but not many, with the likes of Arsenal, AC Milan and Lyon already through.

Of the 48 teams in the 12 groups, 16 have already ensured qualification and 15 are eliminated.

That leaves 17 clubs scrapping for the remaining eight spots in the round of 32 draw on December 11.

Gasperini could be in hot water with Serie A bosses after a foul-mouthed tirade was caught by television pictures after he was expelled in the 79th minute by referee Luca Pairetto at the Stadio Olimpico.
