Will Portugal Overcome Bosnia Without Ronaldo?

World Cup Buzz 05 November @ 04:41 PM EST

Portugal will most likely be missing Cristiano Ronaldo when it hosts Bosnia-Herzegovina on 11/14/09 as it looks to build some momentum prior to the return leg in Bosnia on the 18th of November. Unfortunately for the Portuguese the latest report claims Ronaldo will be out for about a month which means he will not feature in both matches for the national team.

Halloween will arrive in a few days, but for Atlético Madrid, this season has been a complete nightmare from the beginning. Los rojiblancos hit their low point with a dull thud on Saturday when they could not fend off a nine-man Mallorca team and settled for a 1-1 draw at the Vicente Calderón.

Atletico still seeking first win

Soccer On Dish 25 September @ 12:24 AM EST

Spanish heavyweights Atletico Madrid are still seeking their first La Liga victory this season. In four games they've drawn two and lost two and they face the daunting task of traveling to Valencia's Mestalla Stadium on Saturday as they attempt to get it right at the fifth attempt.

Over the last couple of weeks my 'game of the week' style articles have focused heavily on English football, being English this is understandable but I will certainly be checking out La Liga action on Saturday night.

La Liga in the Champions League: Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid

La Liga Talk 16 September @ 03:30 AM EST

"Please, no acclaim, I'm just a humble footballer... who scored twice from two incredible free kicks."

The group stage of the Champions League began on Tuesday evening, and two La Liga outfits looked to initiate the exorcism of their personal demons.

Real Madrid and its galácticos played its first Champions League match of the season against an upstart FC Zürich team who, before the match, seemed more interested in whom they would swap shirts.

Atlético Madrid Continues Their Stumbling Start

La Liga Talk 14 September @ 11:51 AM EST

Sergio Agüero and Atlético Madrid cannot see or find their form.

Atlético Madrid prolonged their faltering start with a 1-1 draw against Racing Santander on Saturday. Even with a man advantage for the majority of the second half, they lacked the finishing touch to nip the win from a feisty Santander side.

Liverpool Failed In Summer Move for £19m Winger Simao

Caught Offside 08 September @ 11:33 AM EST

Would've been a good buy in my book.

According to a report in Portuguese daily Diario de Noticias, Juventus had set aside €22 million to lure Atletico Madrid winger Simao to the Stadio Olimpico, but could not complete a deal.

The offer was resoundingly rejected by the Spanish club, whose director of sport, Jesus Garcia Pitarch, admitted that several European clubs were keen on the 29-year-old.

Germany vs Portugal

Portugal 3-1 Czech Republic
Cristiano Ronaldo and co. have made easy work of the group stages so far. They got off to a good start in this game as well, with an early goal. Ronaldo was played into the box via a one-two with Nuno Gomes; Petr Cech did well to just barely tip the ball away from him, but it fell to Deco and he scrambled it across the goal line.
