All eight NASL teams were in action Saturday night. The two Florida franchises had big nights,
as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers pinned a rare loss on the Carolina RailHawks at Lockhart Stadium
while FC Tampa Bay won 4-0 in Atlanta over the Silverbacks. Saturday's other two matches were also
won by the visiting team, as the NSC Minnesota Stars hung another loss on the Montreal Impact at
Saputo Stadium and the Puerto Rico Islanders rebounded from their CONCACAF Champions League
elimination by eking out a 1-0 victory in Edmonton.

The NASL debuted their new game ball last night at all three league games in Atlanta, GA,
(Silverbacks vs. Islanders), St. Petersburg, FL, (FC Tampa Bay vs. Strikers) and Blaine, MN, (Stars
vs. FC Edmonton).
The ball which is made by Joma, looks very much like the old NASL balls from the 70′s but uses
the new NASL Logo and star.

A battle for second place takes center stage in the NASL this weekend as teams try to keep pace
with the runaway Carolina Railhawks.
Carolina returns home to take on a Tampa Bay team that has had trouble finding the back of the
net this season, scoring only 11 goals.
Mike Ambersley Offensive Player of the Week
FC Tampa Bay forward Mike Ambersley has been named the North American Soccer League Offensive
Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Ambersley scored a season-high two goals in FC Tampa Bay's 3-2 victory over Atlanta on Sunday

The 2011 NASL season is now a quarter over, and so far the season is turning out to be the
Etienne Barbara show as his Carolina RailHawks club dropped the Puerto Rico Islanders 3-0 in Cary,

league.
Miami Ultras Alive was back for the third week in a row. If you missed it make sure to listen
below. We broke down the first MagicJack game against the Boston Breakers. MJ came out victorious
in their season opener, 1-0.
We covered in great detail the SFU road trip to Atlanta. SFU members traveled to see their beloved
Fort Lauderdale Strikers beat the Silverbacks.
By Pieter Brown - Members of the Miami Ultras along with our friends in Flight 19 made the trek up
to Atlanta to watch the Fort Lauderdale Strikers eke out a win against the Silverbacks.
The Strikers looked disjointed through most of the game. Even though they were not at their best
diminutive Martin Nunez scored a crafty goal in the 14th minute chipping the ball over the
Silverback's keeper.
