MLS Communism Kills Kanji

8

Just when you thought the league turned the corner on ridiculous rules and regulations, we get this - MLS has blocked Red Bulls transfer of Atlanta Silverback standout, Kanji.

Grandfathering Carlos Ruiz is fine.

Grandfathering Landon Donovan? No problem Beckha .

MLS tries to bully Silverbacks, block sale of Kandji to Red Bulls

Soccer by Ives is reporting that MLS has blocked the Red Bulls' purchase of Macoumba Kandji from the Silverbacks. Get the details here...

I think MLS really, really screwed up here. Who cares what league a quality player is in? Why should the fact that he's playing in the USL matter as to his value? Click to continue reading...

Forward Targets Finally Revealed

3

Brian Lewis of the New York Post always seems to have the scoop. And this week is no different.

For those who have been asking, here is the dealio:

- The Atlanta Silverbacks are still asking for the absurd transfer fee of 200k for their elite forward, Macoumba Kanji (just a side note - his first name is pronounced the same way as an ancient Brazilian voodoo practice).

Sprinkles: Cleaning out the cubbard

1
New York: The bids the club placed for foreign based strikers were rejected, so it appears that the Red Bulls will be going even harder after Macoumba Kandji of the Silverbacks. The issue at this point is acquiring enough allocation money through the league to pay Atlanta's approximate $200,000 transfer fee. Click to continue reading...

Kandji update: Red Bulls trying to get more money to make the deal

2
Ives is reporting that the Red Bulls are trying to make a trade within MLS for allocation funds to pay for a transfer fee for Atlanta's Macoumba Kandji. I wonder if the price has went up, or if the Silverbacks were unwilling to lower the price to help New York out. The rumored figure has been $200,000. Click to continue reading...

All The Bull: New Prospects, Dane Richards, Hunter Freeman and mo’ . . .

First off, permit me to apologize for over 3 days of none posting - a record for this blogging nerd. I will have pictures of what the hell I have been up to soon. In the meanwhile, I figure a good old "All The Bull" should bring everyone up to speed on things. Again, my sincerest apologies.

Riding the high of the DC game, alot of interesting and odd ball news has been popping up left and right.

MLS in Atlanta. What's in a Name?

5
Cobb Snobs. Gwinnett Traffic Jammers. Atlanta Flamers...ahem...these are few of the names (obviously tongue in cheek) that I've seen bouncing around several message boards of late as MLS expansion continues to be a hot topic.

I know I'm being unrealistically optimistic, but let's spend a few moments talking about team names. Click to continue reading...

Silverbacks Come Away with a Point against the Timbers

1
In a match finish that should have a warning label for cardiac patients, the Silverbacks miraculously scraped out a draw against the Portland Timbers.

For large stretches of the match, the Silverbacks seemed to control the run of play yet could not convert any of their possession in to goals. Click to continue reading...

US Open Cup report, Round 2

2
Unfortunately, the tournament won't visit Atlanta this year as the Silverbacks fell 1-0 in Miami. Atlanta FC didn't make it out of the USASA qualifying round down in Jacksonville. It's a shame, I love this tournament and the craziness that can happen in it.

We've had one upset tonight, as Cleveland City scored two goals in extra time to defeat the USL-D1 Thunder in Minnesota. Click to continue reading...
