Wellington Silva in his Fluminense days
Arsenal player Wellington Silva has switched Levante for Alcoyano who are currently sitting 17th
in the Spanish second division.
Silva signed for Arsenal from Fluminense at the start of 2010 for around £3.5 million when he was
just 16. He officially joined the Gunners when he turned 18.
Marcos, goalkeeper of the Brazilian team who won the World Cup 2002, announced his retirement,
at age 38. He retires after a career of 20 years, playing only for one team: Palmeiras; the team
informed that no other player will wear jacket #12, the one Marcos used to wear; also, there plans
of building an statue of Marcos to be planted at the stadium of Palmeiras.

Match report
So, our first league defeat since that trip to White Hart Lane at the start of October, and like
that day I don't think it was a game we really deserved to lose. Our encounters with Mancini's City
have been normally staid affairs due to their defensive approach but their more expansive style
this season meant it was an exciting, open game of football which suited both teams.

In many ways this game was a microcosm of many recent Arsenal seasons. There was much to admire.
