180+ minutes of football into the season and we have yet to see our Gunners put one in the back
of the net. At the same time all you "glass half fullers" out there can say we haven't conceded a
goal in that same period of play. We pretty much dominated the entire run of play today against
Stoke and yet only come away with a 0-0 draw and one point.

Boston College alumnus Laura Georges helped lead France on an impressive run to the semifinals

Caledonia AIA came to Seattle for their first CONCACAF Champions League match in their history.
If they were expecting a large crowd of cheering supporters that Seattle has become known for they
were in for a surprise. Less than 8,000 fans showed up in Seattle to watch Seattle Sounders FC
start a new CCL campaign.
The New England Revolution have traded club captain and longtime loyal soldier Shalrie Joseph to
Chivas USA in exchange for Blair Gavin, the Goats' natural second-round pick in the 2013

England for the first time since his professional career began.
It was another disappointing away loss last weekend for the New England Revolution and
In the past four games (three losses and a draw), the Revs have generated enough good
goalscoring opportunities to win each game. But lack of quality in front of goal is killing the
team this season.
Houston returned to their winning ways on Thursday night, in front of 18,452 at BBVA Compass
Stadium. After Brad Davis failed to convert a Dynamo penalty in the 74th minute, Colin Clark was

setting up the penalty.
In Sunday's 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC, FC Dallas finished the game with 24 total shots,
but that number's a bit misleading. See, MLS labels all shots as attempts on goal, which isn't
exactly true. Shots on goal are actually termed as shots on target. So FCD finished Sunday's tie
with the denizens of the Emerald City with seven shots on goal compared to just four by the
visitors.

Soccer has always been a sport predicated on somewhat subjective measurables; many coaches,
scouts and trainers finding the majority of what they need to know from a player's actual play on
the field, rather than his respective averages and scores in a spreadsheet.
There was nothing on the line for the New England Revolution and Philadelphia Union when they
squared off at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night, and it is probably a good thing.
Two teams playing out the string put together a forgettable 90 minutes of soccer and wound up
settling for a 0-0 draw.
The first half was a rather sad state of affairs for the Revs, with passing lacking and a
finishing touch very absent in the final third. Although the possession stat was almost even
between the two sides, it certainly didn't look it, as Sporting Kansas City dominated the run of
play and put together six shots on goal.

The United States defeated Mexico 1-0 in an international friendly on August 15, 2012. It's the

and absorbing pressure.

There's nothing quite like the chemistry of two strikers making music together by playing off of
each other's strengths or setting each other up. Sometimes, one guy is the emotional header and the
other is the acrobatic juggler or one guy is the stronger dribbler while the other has a quick
boot.
In Soccer, a strong scoring duo makes all the difference for fans and for a winning record.
The Fire's goal scoring drought has been no secret to anybody. And it's been a point of

1) If we insist - rightly - on giving new signings a chance, then it's pretty inconsistent to jump
to extensive conclusions too quickly. Have Arsenal looked better defensively in the first three
games of the season? Yeah, absolutely.
But to argue that this mean we now have the best defence in the League is not so much over-egging
the point as scrambling it (if you'll forgive the terrible metaphor).
MLS teams on the East Coast, and those on the West that didn't pay attention, just received
notice. This isn't last years Sounders, or the year before, or the year before. This is a new
Seattle. A Seattle of power. A Seattle of opportunity. A Seattle of staunch defense. A Sounders of
blue and green and shiny things.
