It may be just three games into the new Premier League season - and plenty of players and teams
have failed badly after a bright start in the past - but Chelsea finally look the real deal again
and appear to have landed a future world star in Eden Hazard.
The Blues made it three wins out of three with a comfortable 2-0 success over Newcastle and the
European champions' impressive start bodes well for not only a sustainable top-four challenge this
season (bearing in mind last term's disappointing sixth-place finish) but also an all-out assault
on the title.
Not Quite 1966: North Korea ruffle few World Cup feathers is a post from: Just Football
Overview
Three games played, three games lost. One goal scored, twelve conceded. Despite a promising
start, North Korea's 2010 World Cup has been ultimately disappointing having delivered little in
the way of shock results or the surprise of the unknown.
Predicting results at this stage of the season becomes something of a fool's errand. Easter time
has always thrown up shock results. The only surprise is that we continue to be surprised by it.
There are just so many factors at this stage of the season that make facing Wigan in December, for
instance, a much, much different prospect to facing them in April.
The Boro defence will have to keep a sharp eye on Parkgate striker Ashley Worsfold tomorrow as the
striker tries to help his team back to the top of the league table.
Worsfold was on target twice in Tuesday evening's surprising 4-3 home defeat to Winterton Rangers,
he also scored both Parkgate goals 3 days earlier in his teams 2-1 victory over Dinnington Town.
Looks Suspiciously Like Tottenham's Gareth Bale....
After some of yesterday's shock results, Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim have the chance to
capitalize on their rivals' mistakes. Bayern Munich host Nurnberg, and Hoffenheim host
Freiburg.
Bayern Munich v Nurnberg
Bayern Munich will be boosted by the return of both Franck Ribery and Mark van Bommel, but this
match will be anything but easy.
Last night's mid-week football had the potential and promise to be full of shock results, with
Chelsea facing West London rivals Fulham in perhaps the most civilised derby in the league.
Elsewhere, there was of course the hotly anticipated Manchester derby, would United be beaten by
their once loved Tevez?
Egypt will be aiming to bounce back from World Cup play-off defeat to rivals Algeria to become the
first team in the competition's history to lift the trophy three times, while other favourites
Ivory Coast, Ghana and Cameroon also have their eye on the continent's biggest prize. Be prepared
for some shock results as well, with the likes of Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia keen to prove that
they are not just in Angola to make up the numbers.
Barring some catastrophic meltdown, I believe that the Red Devils have secured their 20th title
with 7 games left to play. Â The recent form of both teams gives us good insight. Â Combine that
with their upcoming opponents and I feel compelled to predict the future!Manchester City have
recently struggled when playing away from the Etihad losing 3 and drawing 1 of their last 6
fixtures on the road.

This morning, we would like to begin the Weekend Results post with a pledge. In future we shall
try to avoid making statements on the good form or otherwise of a particular club. While it is
vaguely amusing to see the application of our collective football knowledge shown up for what it
is, we realise that continual damning of form clubs into the depths of embarrassment *may* alienate
us from our readers.
In one of the shock results of the English Premier League season, Sunderland
left Stanford Bridge the home of the Champions, Chelseawith a 3-0
win! No one expected Sunderland to come away with all 3 points, in fact the odds before
the game were 100/1 for them to win 3-0.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup is destined to be held in Brazil. The hosts for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA
World Cup's have yet to be decided. It was, on Friday evening, made clear that the host of the 2018
FIFA World Cup will be a European country. The United States of America was still technically in
the running to host the event until Friday evening when they withdrew on the advice of the FIFA
World Cup committee who made it clear that they will choose a European nation.
Reports have come out this week claiming that La Liga was on the verge of the biggest change up
since its creation. A study published by Sport+Markt, showed that Real Madrid & Barcelona gobble up
roughly 19 times more money from the leagues TV deals, than the smaller clubs at the bottom end of
the league.
In contrasting style to their previous two Barclays Premier League draws, Manchester United
were forced to come-from-behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw with the Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok
Stadium.
On two separate occasions, Zat Knight and Martin Petrov gave Bolton the lead, but Nani and
Michael Owen were able to peg them back, but United were unable to find a goal to move them closer
to top of the Premier League table.
BLACKPOOL are in the Premier League and all fans will be hoping they play them away on the Bank
Holiday. Well, not those Arsenal fans with second homes in Tuscany, nor the Chelsea fans who like
to be no more than 200ft from a Pret A Manger, and not those who have ever been to Blackpool before
to revisit their father's old haunts on an away day from Leeds (don't ask).

Even this early on into the current EPL season viewers have witnessed nearly every team have at
least one or two surprise if not shock results. Often these so called ‘blips' have been
accompanied by a dip in form, or at the very least results that have meant the table from top to
bottom is as intriguing and open as perhaps it has ever been before.
Nothing. After the excitement of yesterday with yellow card palooza, exciting goals, stirring
comebacks, robbed goals, shock results and Wayne Rooney rounding off on the England fans.
Nothing.
Raul Master-Class Lifts Schalke To A Convincing 4–0 Win.
Saturday's games were representative of how this Bundesliga has gone so far. Goals galore, shock
results, and one clear leader of the pack in the form of Borussia Dortmund. Here are the
results!
Borussia Monchengladbach 2 — 3 Mainz
Mainz have finally ended their poor run of form with a comeback win here against Gladbach.
The Bundesliga this weekend was full of shock results. With champions Bayern Munich
losing to newly promoted Kaiserslautern, and Hannover beating last year's runner-up Schalke.
However, few were more surpising than the upset at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg.
What a day to be a Spurs fan. Not sure if you've heard but the team that wasn't given a chance
to finish in the top 4 last season by the press or the team that didn't get anywhere near the
plaudits after winning 4-1 in their last Champions League game compared to what their local
neighbours are today after a similar result will be playing in the San Siro tonight against the
current champions.
After some shock results in last nights matches, expect more tonight... this is how I've picked
'em. I predict: Liverpool 2 v 1 Fiorentina Olympique Lyon 3 v 1 Debreceni VSC Internazionale 1 v 1
Rubin Kazan Dynamo Kyiv 0 v 3 Barcelona VfB Stuttgart 2 v 1 FC Unirea Urziceni Sevilla 3 v 0
Rangers Olympiacos 1 .
No support for Blatter's re-election, Champions League shock results, impressive individual
performances and spectacular goals, all feature on this week's The Good, the Bad and the
Ugly. Vocabulary support can be found for the words in bold at the foot of
the post.
The midweek round of games are the second rarest thing in the German Bundesliga, so hopefully your
midweek time was well spent soaking in some German football (the first rarest thing in the
Bundesliga, of course, being a goal from Mario Gomez). The week provided a couple of shock results,
which has set up several good matches this weekend.
Bordeaux lose at home, Grenoble snatch a point versus Lyon, Auxerre moves top with a 8th
consecutive win all that happened in the last round of Ligue 1 matches. Then of course there was
the incredible 5:5 draw between Lyon and Marseille in the previous round, that was deemed as "the
match of the century" by the French media and no doubt one of the best football matches in the
World in recent seasons.
Seven Major League Soccer clubs lost in US Open Cup play on Tuesday night, with two games remaining
to determine the field for the Fourth Round. On Tuesday, San Antonio (NASL) shutout Houston 1-0 and
Michigan (PDL) beat Chicago 3-2 in overtime. In a break from the upsets, Sporting KC beat Orlando
(USL Pro) 3-2 and DC United needed overtime to get past Richmond (USL Pro) 2-1.
Shock results and goals galore in Week 4 of the season, and Scott and Ted are here to break it
all down. They also answer listener emails about the tightening talent gap between East and West,
the surging rookies, Robin Fraser's job, and more. Correspondents include: DC, LA, New York, New
England, Columbus, Seattle, Colorado, Kansas City, and San Jose.
After yesterday's shock results in the FA Cup with both Arsenal and Norwich being knocked out, we
have a few potential upsets in the 5th Round of the FA Cup today. Plus we'll learn later today who
will play whom ...

While the World Club Cup rolls around every year, and many think that it's just a couple of
friendlies for the European and South American champions, thats not how FIFA's tournament has
panned out this season.
The first semi-final between TP Mazembe and Internacional took place today, and it was quite a
shock result with the African champions winning 2-0 against the Brazilian team.
