The Guardian had a great collection of photos from Wednesday's action. I wanted to share a few of
my favorites...
1. Setting the scene
2. Shevchenko's last stand?
3. Flash!
4. Setting fire to the competition
5. Fun day for the French

KICKETTE 19 November @ 11:17 AM EST
Let's take a moment to reflect on the many different faces we've seen recently in World Cup
qualifying action.
There's the good-old fashioned happy face, as seen (above), by Algerian keeper, Faouzi
Chaouchi.
The "don't want you to see the tears" Face (Ukraine's Shevchenko)
The "I could give a shite if you see me cry, I'm a man and I have feelings" Face (Egypt's
al-Hadary)
The "bish, I'll cut you" Face (Anyukov, Russia)
The "aggro-happy" Face (Pepe, Portugal)
The "my abs are overjoyed with emotion about this victory" Face (Perez, Uruguay)
And, our personal favourite, the "Who farted?

Shevchenko resta a casa.

Ukraine and Greece head into the 2nd leg encounter after a goalless draw at Athens. Ukraine's'
captain Andry Shevchenko knows that this is the last chance for him for a final World Cup
appearance and it's the best occasion to earn the qualification berth in front of the home fans. A
nerve tingling encounter awaits the [.

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris (Lyon)
Hugo Lloris showed Liverpool fans why he is France's number one keeper. While the Reds poured on
the pressure he stood firm and made some brilliant saves early on against Kuyt, Torres, and
Voronin. It took a wonder-strike from Babel to finally beat him.
Centre Back: Lucio (Internazionale)
Lucio showed why he is rated so highly around Europe.

Atletico Madrid 2 - Chelsea 2
Mal primer tiempo, gran segunda mitad.

As I let you know back when I posted up this year's FFT100, I'm a bit of a junkie for lists. They
are utterly meaningless, and yet compelling at the same time. With it being the end of the decade,
there are tonnes of lists of the best albums, films, videos, celebrities etc floating around. [...]

I don't know if anyone else reads World Soccer but I have a subscription to the magazine
and in the most recent issue, they raised the point of the best striker in the world. I'll explain
how they came to their conclusion in a moment but I was wondering what other people thought was
required in a striker and who they feel is the best.

Although we are only 10 games into the season, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is starting to look more and
more like a big flop. 15 million euro were spent on the Dutch striker, and even if he reaches 5
goals this season it would seem like a big achievement. Sure you can say that he needs time to
adapt to a new style of play, new language, new culture, but it's already November almost and we
still have not seen Huntelaar's name on the score sheet.

Apologies for the predictable headline. But Mr. Ferdinand's moment of Sunday league defending
madness, which led to Robert Green's sending off and should have led to Ukraine's first goal (poor
Shevchenko put the pen wide) seems to have more or less cost us this game.
As I say seems to, because I didn't watch.

The claim by Croatia that we threw the game against Ukraine because we would prefer them to qualify
just doesn't stack up. It might explain why Ferdinand appeared to be asleep at the crucial moment,
and why the referee initially went to send him off , but Capello keeping Heskey on and Green
completing the move by bringing down Milevski is a conspiracy theory too far.
