Soon enough, we will all be together again in our in season home, PPL Park. We will all cheer on
the U as they begin their third season in MLS. Soon enough, it will be March 18th.
It will be time for 'Stache Bash 2012.
Started last year by Scott Kessler, of the Brotherly Game, and Jeremy Sharpe, a Sons of Ben
drummer, this event, at the Sons of Ben home opener tailgate, is our annual event to raise money
for The Bernardine Center in Chester, PA.
Scott Kessler, Jeremy Sharpe, and the Sons of Ben are at it again.
Gentlemen, it is time to put down the razors, grab the grooming scissors, mirrors, assorted
mustaches waxes, choose the style that is right for you, and let testosterone do the rest, all to
raise money for Help Kick Hunger, to benefit The Bernardine Center in Chester, PA.
Saturday's Sons of Ben-organized Help Kick Hunger charity at McFaddens at Citizen's Bank
Park was a huge success. $8,300 was raised at the event, which featured appearances from the
Philadelphia Union's Brian Carroll, Zach Pfeffer and Jimmy McLaughlin. The recently retired Veljko
Paunovic was also on hand.
Jeremy Sharpe, of 'Stache Bash and Conduct/YSA fame, brings a new contest to the Brotherly Game
for its readers. Sharpe is one of the Sons of Ben's game day drummers in the River End and has a
drum that is currently unpainted.
At 14 inches, this marching snare has plenty of room for someone's design to make an impact
upon.
As Sons of Ben member Jeremy Sharpe discusses in his newest post at 137 Zomieside, the Sons of
Ben are attempting to persuade Questlove of The Roots to come to a Philadelphia Union game.
Summary of the situation: After seeing Questlove tweet, I jokingly sent a tweet out late one
night about how it'd be nice to have Philly's own Questlove come out to a game and watch it with
the Sons of Ben.
During Saturday's Sons of Ben tailgate, 'Stache Bash happened and a lot of money was raised
(I'll get into that in another post). As part of it all 6abc decided to come by and interview the
Sons of Ben to give viewers a closer look at the supporter group.
I originally didn't want to head over, but Jeremy Sharpe (whose mustache spawned the 'Stache
Bash) insisted I head over with him.
United finally knocked Liverpool off  their perch last season. Following an endless supply of
trophies under Sir Alex Ferguson, none meant more to United's global legion of fans than their
19th...
The famous Manchester United FA Youth Cup winning side of 1992 will very likely be broken up soon
with the imminent retirement of Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs. Nobody wishes it upon them obviously
but...
Instead of going through all the 23 teams we are to face this season, I thought I'd do something
slightly different to preview the new season. I've asked 6 Boro supporters for their views on the
season ahead as the club prepares for its first campaign in npower League 1. If you want a preview
of League 1, then I recommend reading The Seventy Two Unfortunates' Football League preview.
A random fan selected out of the crowd at PPL Park during the halftime of the Philadelphia
Union's game against the Chicago Fire will get a chance to meet striker Danny Mwanga.
Verizon, as part of its sponsorship with the Union, will have the "FiOS Fan of the Day" at
halftime on May 21. Any fan who is at the game is eligible to win the promotion's prize, with a
random seat number selected as the winner.
