Shannon Smyth (Mequon/Milwaukee DSHA) was named to the Republic of Ireland squad for the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

The 24-year-old Smyth, who will start her second season with Amazon Grimstad FK in Norway's Toppserien in April, has six career caps. She has dual citizenship because her father, Brendan, was born and raised in Ireland.

Shannon Smyth (Mequon/Milwaukee DSHA) is headed back to Norway for the 2011 Toppserien season.

However, the Irish international midfielder-forward is joining Amazon FK in Grimstad, she confirmed Wednesday night on her Twitter feed.

Smyth, 23, had 10 goals and one assist in 21 matches in all competitions for Donn Toppfotball last season.
