Irish boss Giovanni Trapattoni has called Everton defender Shane Duffy into the Ireland squad for
this month's international friendly against Czech Republic at Lansdowne Road.
The 20-year-old Derry born defender will replace Richard Dunne in the 24-man squad after the Villa
defender learned he will sidelined for eight weeks with a fractured clavicle suffered during
Villa's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City yesterday afternoon.
Everton Boss David Moyes has praised the maturity of Ireland U21 International Shane Duffy after
his home Premier League debut at Goodison Park yesterday against Blackburn.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw Moyes said "Shane Duffy had a terrific game. He was arguably our best
player today and he's a young boy; we just needed a lot more in every department.

After a ten-six loss at their last matchup the Lancer squad was ready to even the odds as they

If you want to know anything about soccer in Rochester there is one guy to speak to Salvatore
Fantauzzo ( Soccer Sam). From his early beginnings until now he has built a legacy of promoting the
game of soccer in the US. Now as CEO/Founder of the Rochester Lancers he is creating new legends.
Meet the Mohegan Warrior
By Shane Badger
I had a chance Tuesday evening to catch up with Elliot Fauske the
Lancers sharp Defensive midfielder, dubbed the Mohegan warrior by his fans in the
Cavalry supporters club for both his hair style and his tendancy to scalp the ball
from his opponents feet.
West Brom's Chris Brunt limped off during the defeat to Everton and is likely to miss out, while
Shane Long is doubtful and Jonas Olsson will sit out with a calf strain. All these key injuries has
led to some despondent West Brom fans to describing this match as an exercise in
"damage
limitation.

Roberto Mancini has criticized the Premier League for scheduling the next round of fixtures in a
way that means Liverpool will have two days' extra rest before their away game against Manchester
City a week on Tuesday.
Liverpool are at home against Newcastle United on Friday night and City face Sunderland at the
Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon, giving Kenny Dalglish's players close to an extra 48 hours to
recover for the match at the Etihad Stadium.

West Bromwich Albion 0-0 Manchester City Premier League 26th December 2011
Good old Roy Hodgson and his merry band of Baggies became the first team in the league this
season to stop the Citizens from scoring, after putting on a superb hard-working performance.
Isn't it funny how different people see different things? I know opposing managers will see one
incident in very different ways. For one it was a penalty, for the other his defender just got a
touch of the ball.
But I'm genuinely curious as to how Alex McLeish thinks Arsenal players 'conned' Alan Hutton
into getting sent off the other night.

In-form Irish striker Shane Long netted a late equaliser against QPR to give the visiting
Baggies a hard-fought share of the points at Loftus Road.
Heider Helguson looked like heading QPR to all three points before a late Shane Long equaliser
gave West Brom a share of the Spoils.
Shane Long went on air after West Brom's victory this week to say "I didn't receive any apology
over the [Alan Hutton] tackle." To me this is disgraceful. Shane Long has been out for a month. And

While Arsenal only have the injured Chamakh as an unavailable striker, West Brom have bigger
worries concerning their attacking force. Their top scorer from last season, Peter Odemwingie, is a
doubt and faces a late test on his knee. Shane Long – their most prolific player of this campaign
with three goals – will not [.

Central New York prepares for an epic joust tonight between the Rochester Lancers and the Syracuse
Silver Knights in what may prove to be the leagues greatest rivalry.
In tonight's opening battle of the MISL season in New York the storied Lancers will travel into the
heart of Syracuse to defend Rochester's title of Soccer City.

Liverpool head back out on the road, this time visiting the West Midlands and Roy Hodgson's West
Bromwich Albion side. Last season this fixture had an uncomfortable build-up and an even more
awkward outcome, and thankfully the lead-in to this season's meeting hasn't had nearly the same
sentiment.

Rep of Ireland and Leeds defender Darren O'Dea scores a dramatic injury time winner against
Peterbro. Maybe Trapattoni will throw him up front after this one considering Shane Long and Robbie
Keane are doubtful for the play-offs while Kevin Doyle misses out through suspension, with Trap I
wouldn't be surprised with the switch.
Rep of Ireland and West Brom striker Shane Long faces a lenghthy spell on the treatment table

Sunderland 2-2 West Bromwich Albion Premier League 1st October 2011
The Baggies were two goals up after just five minutes of play at the Stadium of Light, courtesy
of goals from James Morrison and Shane Long. However, Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner, on a season-long
loan, hauled the Black Cats back into the game, scoring one and setting up Ahmed Elmohamady for the
equaliser.
Scunthorpe United have extended the loan stay of Ireland U21 international Shane Duffy.

Brendan Rogers' Swansea City side play attractive football, but before yesterday, they had

However, against the Baggies, the Swans cantered to a 3-0 victory, courtesy of their first three

West Brom's top scorer from last season Peter Odemwingie has suffered a setback in his bid to
return from a niggling ankle injury, with Roy Hodgson confirming the striker's return date is yet
unknown. The Nigerian first sustained the injury during West Brom's pre-season, although the
striker did come off the bench for 15 minutes against Chelsea.
A wonder goal from Johnny Black helped Coleraine FC win their latest match at home to Portadown

His goal helped restore parity to the game after the visitors took the lead through Kevin

Mouncey put Portadown back in front with just three minutes of the first half remaining only for
the home side to equalize in stoppage time through Shane Jennings.
