Feminism, the American Pro Leagues, and Latinos

The Fake Sigi Schmid Blog 27 August @ 08:06 PM EST
It's nice to see the discussion in the comments of Dan's article eventually expanded to include issues of homophobia and gender. My regular reader knows I've been posting on that stuff quite a bit this summer and it's nice to see the topic break into the mainstream fan culture, if only for a minute. Notes from an alienated fan: Why I want a feminist, anti-homophobic WPS & a more progressive, anti-nationalist/pro-migrant MLS

From a Left Wing 27 August @ 02:35 PM EST
OK. I know a lot of you read that headline and either rolled your eyes, or muttered "dream on, sister."
I've been involved in a discussion on Big Soccer about Dan Loney's article, "Endless Summer". He opens with a reference to my post about the Galaxy/Barça game. Some Big Soccer readers have been baffled by my overtly political (feminist, Marxist) approach to the game (expressed in comments about Loney's article). Click to continue reading...

Following Ronaldo's pink flower in the hair. plenty of people were ready to take the piss. However, this is possibly the most feminine thing we will ever hear one of our players say.

"I don't know why people are so interested in what I wear on holiday?" said Ronaldo. "Last year, everyone was talking about my tight trunks.

Is That A Wig on CR’s new Girl?

Futbolita 26 May @ 11:10 PM EST

Oh look! What a pleasant surprise... Greaseano has once again attracted a classy lady to his den. Well, to be completely honest, many would find it hard to resist this man's charms in real life but the key is to whisper "oily douchebag" about a million times and it will go away.

The Offside Rules 27 June @ 02:32 PM EST
Normally I don't condone talking about a players race, religion, sexuality or wife & children. But in the cae fo the photo above, the Screaming Eagles kind of have a point. Sorry Posh, but they can hit them highs in way that you can't...they are the Mariah Carey of supporters groups.
Depending on what part of the country you are in you'll need to either skip church, wake up early or not even go to sleep to watch Sunday's 12pm EST match between DC United and LA Galaxy, a game we're calling "The Nooner" here at TOR Towers. Click to continue reading...

Renovations

The DCenters 03 January @ 10:19 AM EST

JOSH GROS, AU REVOIR: We start with the news of a qualified good-bye to Josh Gros, who is taking a year off and will then re-evaluate his health. We're going to put Josh in the good-bye column on the right, and note that we may say "hello" to him next year. I honestly have no basis to speculate, but we're all agreed that Josh's health must come first, and I would rather he retire permanently than come back in 2009 and put himself at risk for a more permanent injury.
