2010 Qualifiers and U17 Final This Weekend

The U17 World Cup wraps up this weekend. One of the semifinals begin tomorrow (Thursday) with COLOMBIA-SWITZERLAND, live at 8:55 am on Galavision. The Final is Sunday November 15th, and ESPN2 will be broadcasting the game live at 11:45 am.

In addition to the U17 games, Saturday begins the final qualifying rounds for World Cup 2010.

The FA Fails To Secure TV Deal For The FA Cup

The loss of Setanta Sports during the summer didn't only have knock on effects for the Premier League, although that was the story which hogged the headlines at the time. The Scottish Premier League had to negotiate a new (and reduced) deal with Sky Sports, the Blue Square Premier started the new seasons without any television coverage at all and the FA were left seeking new partners for the FA Cup.

Fox Soccer Channel To Broadcast Liverpool v Man United Game

Fox Soccer Channel will be televising the Liverpool against Manchester United game scheduled for October 25 at 10am ET.

Up until now, we weren't sure whether Setanta Sports or Fox Soccer Channel would show the game, but the game is now listed on Fox Soccer Channel's TV schedule. Following the game, FSC will show West Ham United versus Arsenal at Noon ET.

An Online Petition To Bring Back Special 1 TV

The fan favorite series on soccer/football, Special 1 TV, has been cancelled by Setanta Sports. This is due to the fact Setanta folded operations in the UK and had financial troubles. Currently, Special 1 TV is not in production and has not been picked up by any other network. There's been speculation that it will be picked up by another network (ESPN, BBC, Sky Sports) but these are just rumors.

Why Is ESPN2 Experiencing Technical Difficulties With EPL Games?

Yesterday, the Premier League announced which December matches have had their kickoff times rescheduled so they can be shown on television worldwide. Even though Fox Soccer Channel, Setanta Sports and ESPN haven't announced which games they'll show for that month, I've been able to deduce which games will be shown on US television by matching up the network's schedules with when the games are shown.
