It's always horrible to lose at home, especially when you're 11 points away from the current
Serie A leaders, AC Milan. But Inter learnt this the hard way yesterday when they lost to
20th-placed Novara in the league. Again, you can blame it on the freezing,
negative temperatures in Milan (-1.

There are many critics who love bickering about the downward spiral of Italian
football but at least they have the equivalent of a glamorous Oscar
night! Finally, Zlatan Ibrahimovic silenced his entire phone-book of haters last
night and won the title of Serie A's 'Best Player in 2011′ while Edison Cavani's
Udinese were announced 'Best Club'.
It's clear that Michel Telo's Brazilian hit song 'Ai Seu Te Pego' is
still popular within the Italian football scene, or at least to Milan's 'Carioca' Club of
Robinho, Thiago Silva and Pato.
During Milan's 3-0 defeat of Novaro last night, Robinho did the famous dance move after netting
the second goal.
In the world of football, festivities and holidays don't last very long... just ask AC
Milan! They've spent the last three seasons holed up in a winter training camp in Dubai,
ringing in the New Year in the presence of one another. At least David Beckham
threw a New Year's party when he was at the club.

AC Milan recently held a Christmas party (of course, 'Natale'
is incredibly important for the land of the Pope!) where players, coaches, staff and sponsors were
invited to mingle, eat cheese and look bloody fabulous. Everyone needs to take a leaf out of these
smoldering Italians' books.
As we learned last week, Christmas cheer may be high all across the Serie A, but come the
weekend, festivities had to be put on hold for some actual football. This weekend's round of
fixtures was the penultimate before the winter break. So what happened this weekend?
On Saturday, current reigning champions Milan retook their place at the top of the table with a
hard-won victory over struggling Siena.
For a long time, you and I wondered what had happened to The Lady Gago, who was a
spectacular flop at Real Madrid, lauded at Boca Juniors (and even found the time
to date one of our good friends there!) and now.... an AS Roma prince!
Italy, oh Italy! The world's eyes are fixated on their fallen president and wacky owner of AC
Milan today... Botox Berlusconi! Well, everyone except the Azzurri of
course, where it was 'Business as Usual' with medical checks at the team's training camp in
Florence yesterday.
Here's Gianluigi Buffon showing you how to DO IT - even in the face of an emergency! Juventus'
match against Napoli had to be postponed yesterday for fear of flooding and the goalkeeper promptly
left his hotel. Naples' Mayor Luigi De Magistris ordered the postponement because the pitch was
already soggy and there was concern 65,000 fans could be trapped in flooding or cause traffic
problems.
Welcome to Blind Items Monday, where our sources go undercover and do all the
investigative work for you while you try to join the dots (like a boss!) This week's Football
Puzzles involve a sad Serie A star and a La Liga favourite, whose
recklessness bears no end (it seems).

talk... who needs Luis Enrique, again?!! (pra voce, Mari!)/ via Daylife

The first thing Andrea Pirlo must've said when he saw that bizzare photo above
was : "è che un lupo mannaro con meno capelli?!" (is that a werewolf
with lesser hair?). What else is this Halloween Juventus extravaganza supposed to be about, if
doesn't involve their own coach, Antonio Conte, dressed up in a Count
Dracula suit?
Here we go again... new rides for these futbolitos! Last Friday, Real Madrid attended
an Audi go-karting event where they all pretended to be Formula 1 drivers. This week, it's the
Rossoneri's turn to carry out their marketing duties, where they received new cars
with customized front plates.
Some weeks ago, we mentioned about Barcelona's fight to end polio with the Bill &
Melissa Gates Foundation in the USA. Well, it's certainly a great cause and in honour of
World Polio Day yesterday, the club unveiled a video (which may be a little cheesy, but to the
point) describing their mission in greater detail!
Every Wednesday, we round up the offbeat stories in football for you! This week, read what Xabi
Alonso & Diego Forlan's women have to say and watch Hope Solo as she waltzes across the ballroom.
Nagore Aranburu, also known as Xabi Alonso's beautiful and
intelligent wife (classy as Mrs.
Mio dio, if the Lazio fans wanted to scare i Giallorossi (AS
Roma) away in the derby last night, they certainly did with that intimidating eagle. Seriously,
imagine waking up to THAT
everyday!
Oi chicos y chicas! It's Blind Items Monday again, which means while
you were busy at Oktoberfest, our sources ditched the beer in favour of Red Bull
and made some investigative calls to bring you these truly sizzling Football Puzzles! Who's the
serial cheat and Twitter perv?
Yes, we were lamenting the lack of goals for a good part of the Juventus-Milan
fixture yesterday until signore Claudio Marchisio (and
those pair of eyes) stepped in to score twice for Juventus! With a name like
that, the whole of Turin will not be sweating over his complimentary one week
risotto.
Examining the Italian sports front pages one day after Inter Milan loses to a
side recently promoted from Serie B can be a fascinating experience. The phrases 'Sfascio'
(Collapse), 'Gasperini Sinks' and 'Super Novara!' are cluttered all over the place. These Italians
seem to love the word 'Super' a lot, eh, SuperPippo?
After their impressive 2-2 midweek show against Barcelona, Milan fell to a 3-1
defeat in the hands of Napoli last night. And the man of the moment? Hat-trick hero Edison
Cavani, of course! Move aside Suarez, there's a new
Uruguayan star in town!

Nothing screams "SWAAAAG!" more than that platinum gold watch,
Cristiano! Here he is at the premiere of his own documentary entitled :
"Cristiano Ronaldo Al Limite" in Madrid yesterday. The project claims to follow the
Portuguese as he is 'tested to the limit', which involves smashing balls through glass, shooting
and acceleration skills (some of his favourites).
Last year, our fashion friends sent us some previews of the AC Milan boys in a D&G-Inspired
Polaroid Book and we shared the exclusive photos with you. And ya'll know how much we love the
Fashion-Football combination! This year, to celebrate their Scudetto
victory (Italians don't need a reason to party, anyway) D&G organized an event at their store in
Milan and of course, unveiled a series of new portraits featuring the Milanistis.
