Earlier in the week, both the Guardian and Independent reputable members of the British media in
my view claimed Chelsea were ready to throw around £40 million at Atletico Madrid for striker
Sergio Aguero in the January transfer window.

With the international break over and the Leagues ready to embark upon their run in to the January
transfer window, the rumours continue to hot up. Atletico Madrid's 21 year old Sergio Aguero could
be heading to Chelsea now that their transfer ban has been overturned, a move that will see the
Spanish side receive, what is currently believed to be, around £40 million, while AC Milan's
needlessly violent bulldog Gennaro Gattuso has apparently made mention of a move to England,
specifically Manchester City.

Vale, you gotta admit that Baby Benjie is adorable but bears no
resemblance to his grandpa, The Dona. He does however, look a lot like Kun
Aguero. Speaking of your favourite Grammy award-winning singer, he has been included in

MESSAGE TO RAFA:
SPEND IT WISELY!
Latest rumours suggest that fresh capital is finally about to be injected into the club by the
hated Hicks and Gillette selling up to 30% of their joint holding to new investors in a hope to
raise £100 million for the club.
Some of that money is supposedly for the new stadium, although I doubt that, much of it will go on
repaying the debt.

Sergio Aguero inherited the mantle of star striker at Atletico Madrid from Fernando Torres and
on Tuesday night he showed exactly why, scoring two excellent goals in a 2-2 draw against Chelsea
in the Champions League.
Aguero has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in the last 18 months, and there
were claims by Atletico Madrid this summer that they rejected a £42m bid for the Argentina
international.

According to Fleet Street, Chelsea will launch an enormous transfer binge in January.
The FIFA transfer ban hasn't had much, if any, impact on the Chelsea gossip train – I guess
journalists just aren't prepared to give up the stories that would fill hundreds of otherwise empty
column inches every six months.

If Manchester City attacker Robinho's hidden desire is to play for Barcelona then he is not
doing a good job at keeping it a secret.
On Monday, Robinho told a Brazilian radio station he is happy with the interest Barcelona has
in him, and that he thinks it is much easier to become the world's best player with them than
with Manchester City.

Halloween will arrive in a few days, but for Atlético Madrid, this season has been a complete
nightmare from the beginning. Los rojiblancos hit their low point with a dull thud on

Vicente Calderón.

Who are the very best young players in the world? For the purposes of this article, "young
players" are those no older than 22.
First there are the obvious: Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Alexandre Pato, Francesc Fabregas,
Karim Benzema, etc. Their class has been established before this mysterious "young" label
vanished, and subsequently they command enormous transfer fees, if their clubs are even willing to
part with them.
