Arsenal will tour the Far East taking in Seoul, Beijing and Hong Kong in the summer, it can be
revealed.
Gunners chiefs are in talks with Far East parties to finalise the jaunt having already sealed a
deal to play a friendly match in Nigeria.
With exposing the brand to global markets key to Arsenal's business strategy, gone are the days
when Arsène Wenger could take the squad to Austria to take the Alpine air and prepare for the
season ahead.

It didn't come as a surprise. Jeonbuk Motors led the K-league from early in the season and were the
best team for most of it. Choi Kang-hee's men should have won the Asian title too but had to make
do with the domestic title to add to the 2009 crown.
The inevitable came to pass on December 4 in the second leg of the Championship play-off final
against Ulsan Horangi.
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors are South Korean champions for the second time in three years following
their play-off triumph over Ulsan Hyundai.
Jeonbuk were huge favourites going into this year's final having finished top of the regular
season standings whilst their opponents Ulsan had knocked out FC Seoul, Suwon Samsung Bluewings and
Pohang Steelers en route to this year's showpiece.
It was in the sweltering late afternoon heat of Dubai where Gavin Laws, Head of Corporate Affairs
for Standard Chartered, watched the last group of children leave the football pitch at the end of
the final soccer clinic of the calendar year.
With hundreds more kids having benefited from the chance to enjoy a game of football under the eyes
of Liverpool's acclaimed community coaching team, it was a case of being another job very well done
as Liverpool FC and our main club sponsors again came together to provide once in a lifetime
opportunities for our faraway fans.
Coaches from Liverpool Football Club this morning touched down in Mumbai ahead of the start of the
latest LFC-Standard Chartered Football Clinic and GOAL exchange program.
The clinic, which kicks off in India's most densely populated city on Thursday, is the fourth such
venture Liverpool have participated in since Standard Chartered became the club's main sponsor with
over 500 poor or disadvantaged children receiving expert coaching in Nairobi, East London and Seoul
since last August.
Liverpool are being linked with a January move for South Korean international midfielder Ki Sung
Yeung.
The 22-year-old midfielder has come to the fore at Celtic after joining from FC Seoul, earning rave
reviews in both the SPL and Europa League following a reported £2.1 million move in 2009.
Dubbed 'the Korean Steven Gerrard' for his all-action style of play, Daily Mirror reports claim
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is considering a £5 million move to bring the player to Anfield,
presumably in January.

Liverpool have reportedly expressed an interest in Celtic youngster Ki Sung-Yeung who is said to be
keen to leave Parkhead after a poor start to the campaign by the SPL side. The 23 year old was the
subject of an £8m offer from Rubin Kazan but that was rejected by the Scottish side but Neil
Lennon may struggle to prevent his talented attack minded midfielder from having his head turned by
interest from Anfield.
Saudi Arabia's domestic championship began this weekend with record champions Al-Hilal showing
their mettle as they came from behind to defeat Hajer Club by two goals to one whilst Al-Ittihad
warmed up for their forthcoming AFC Champions League clash with South Korean outfit FC Seoul with
an exciting 5-3 triumph over Al Tawwun.
OK, so he's six foot six tall, has won 75 caps for one of the world's leading sides and is a
(relative) bargain at £7.6 million. But is Per Mertesacker really the answer to Arsenal's
woes?
Sunday saw their defence totally outclassed by Manchester United and so I'm not sure a slow,
lumbering centre half would have been all that much help, to be honest.

Liverpool has cancelled the South Korean leg of their Far-East pre-season tour due to "mitigating
circumstances".
The Reds had announced in April they would be playing games in China, Malaysia and Korea during
July.
However, the club has now decided to cancel its July 19 date against Korean champions FC Seoul in
the capital which was to be the final match of the tour.
This past season has made it blindingly obvious that we need some new strikers. Danny Sturridge
isn't coming back, our record signing has left for nothing, and I wouldn't be shocked if Robbie
Blake had to use a walker to get to the box next appearance he makes. So when I saw the story today
that Coyle is looking at not one, but two whole strikers (with two kidneys each,
presumably), I was pleased.
Liverpool legend Ian Rush today flew into the Korean capital of Seoul to participate in a three-day
Standard Chartered and K-League-sponsored youth football clinic.
Accompanied by eight Liverpool coaches, Rush will spend his time in Korea helping to pass on some
of his considerable football knowledge to 100 of the country's most gifted young players.
Liverpool FC is delighted to announce the Club will be travelling to Asia this summer for a
pre-season tour sponsored by Standard Chartered that will include games in China, Malaysia and
Korea.
The Reds enjoy fantastic support in Asia and this summer's visit follows the hugely successful
10-day pre-season tour of Thailand and Singapore in 2009.
2010 was a year to remember for Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma. The team from just south of Seoul not only
won the Asian Champions League but went on to finish third place at the FIFA Club World Cup after
meeting European champions Inter Milan.
It was even better for Sasa Ognenovski, a man looking forward to his third K-League season.
South Korea's top flight domestic league, the K-League, kicks off it's 29th edition in a couple of
weeks on March 5. Soccer's popularity continues to grow in Korea, however like many emerging soccer
nations, people here tend to follow the big leagues in Europe more then the domestic league.
Heard it all before? 7 minutes of the Nearpost talking to Korea and Seoul eFm last Friday prior to
the Australia Korea game.
