The U.S. Women's National Team came from behind thanks to two late Alex Morgan goals to defeat
New Zealand, 2-1, in an international friendly on Saturday afternoon at FC Dallas Stadium (formerly
Pizza Hut Park) in Frisco, Texas. Morgan, who gained a reputation as a super-sub during the 2011
Women's World Cup, started this match, but still saved her best for late, tallying in the 88th
minute and deep into stoppage time.

Wigan Athletic 1-1 Everton Premier League 4th February 2012
A late Victor Anichebe goal was enough to rob perpetual strugglers Wigan of a vital and rare
victory. The defeat leaves the Latics bottom of the table and looking like dead certs for the
drop.

Arsenal 3-2 Aston Villa FA Cup 29th January 2012
With Aston Villa going in at half-time two goals up, Arsene Wenger would no doubt have been
preparing himself for a mountain of abuse from the Emirates crowd for the rest of the
afternoon.
More than any other matchup, the coming together of Barcelona and Madrid forces apart the
usually shared preferences of the cultfootball brain trust. So today's match was one where both
sides could come away feeling they'd won some important battles, if not the war.
The game was not 90 minutes of pure flowing football.
Clint Dempsey hit a second-half hat-trick to lead his Fulham side to an unlikely 5-2 victory over
Newcastle United at Craven Cottage in one of the most eye-catching football scores of the day.
It was a typical case of a game of two halves as Fulham wrestled the initiative from Newcastle
after a one-sided first half.
THFC1882 presents Adam Nathan's report of Tottenham Hotspur's visit to
Manchester City.
They are two time-old clichés, but not only is it a funny old game, it's also one heck of a
rollercoaster following Tottenham Hotspur. After a drab first half, the second period against
Manchester City yesterday afternoon pretty much had it all.
Arsenal were beaten by Man Utd at the Emirates yesterday, but despite going one behinnd in the
first half, the Gunners came out fighting in the second period and were aguably in control of the
game before Arsene Wenger made his inexplicable substitution. But Wenger, although disappointed
that Arsenal didn't get anything out of the [.
Manchester City maintain their lead at the top of table and also widen their gap with third
place team, Tottenham Hotspurs after Roberto Mancini's team edged passed Harry Redknapp's boys this
Sunday.
Controversial Italian striker, Mario Balotelli arrived as City's savior in the match after
scoring the winning goal deep in injury time.
Manchester City finally ended their bad run and also kept their lead at the top of the premier
league after picking up a pretty hard fought victory against Wigan Athletic on Monday.
Bosnian international striker, Edin Dzeko, ended his 11th matches goal drought to bring joy
again for Man City's faithful after Roberto Mancini's side were disappointed in FA Cup and Carling
Cup matches few days ago.
Norfolk SharX News Release:
SHARX TAKE A BITE OUT OF KNIGHTS FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE WIN
Matt Clare's seven points secures 12-11 win over Syracuse
Syracuse, New York – The Norfolk SharX won their second consecutive game Sunday afternoon,
outlasting the Syracuse Silver Knights 12-11 at the Oncenter.
This week saw some serious Coppa Italia action as the Serie A was put on hold. On Tuesday,
Lazio fielded a side culled from both their first team and reserves against Serie B side Hellas
Verona – a gamble for which they almost paid dearly. After securing a 2-0 lead, Lazio seemingly
fell asleep, and Hellas got back into the game with two goals in the second half.
Norfolk SharX press release:
SHARX BLAST PAST BALTIMORE FOR SECOND WIN 17-12Lieberman outstanding in goal with 16 savesNorfolk, Virginia – The Norfolk SharX hosted the legendary Baltimore Blast at Norfolk Scope Arena
Thursday night and came away with a stunning upset win 17-12 Thursday night.
Kenny Dalglish knows Liverpool still have work to do to reach the Carling Cup final despite their
1-0 victory over Manchester City in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium.
Steven Gerrard's 13th minute penalty set the Reds on their way, with the visitors dominating the
first period before lacklustre City improved after the break.
Sebastien Squillaci: Flumm-oxed
1. There are no free passes in the Premiership: Even the so called lesser teams
have their moments under the sun. You underestimate them at your own peril. Teams that got bitten
badly this past weekend: United, City, Chelsea, and Spurs.
Chelsea moved back up to fourth place in the Premier League after picking up a 2-1 away victory
against Wolves, although it took an 89th-minute winner by Frank Lampard to end Chelsea's four-match
winless run.
Stephen Ward thought he had done enough to earn Wolves their fourth consecutive draw when he
cancelled out Ramires's second-half effort with just five minutes remaining, but Lampard pounced to
take the Blues a point above Arsenal, who failed to reclaim fourth spot after losing 2-1 at
Fulham.

Well, that was frustrating, but let's start at the beginning (always a good place to start):
* We had, in many respects, an excellent first half. We raced out the box and dominated the game -
I think we had something like 60% of possession at certain points in the first period, which is
brilliant for any performance away from home.
Manchester City continue their winning run after last weekend's victory over Arsenal by gaining
another important victory, this time against Stoke City at Etihad Stadium.
The result brought the Eastlands closer in getting the half season champion as they would need
one more victory to seal that temporary morale boosting achievement.
An ocean of luck, that's what Lyon have been bathing in for the last month or so. Even last
saturday, OL have won their last home game of the year, for the first time in ten years: another
sign of the success of Lyonnais in December. A miracle in the Champions League, followed by other
very favorable news (Nicosia, for C1, the neighbor La Duchère for La Coupe de France, a string of
referee decisions that got us to win) four straight wins in the Championship .
Norfolk's Matthew Delicate Scores Hat Trick in 19-8 loss
Norfolk, Virginia The Norfolk SharX played almost flawless soccer in the first quarter of Sunday
night's match with the storied Baltimore Blast. Matthew Delicate scored at 0:22 of the match
to take the SharX up 2-0 and the lead held throughout the first quarter of play.
Barca duly wrapped up the 2011 Club World Cup in Yokohama on Sunday with a one-sided 4-0 win over
South American champions Santos in front of a full house of 68,166 fans.
The team from Sao Paulo in Brazil had looked likely to provide stiffer opposition than they
eventually offered after their impressive 3-1 win over J-League champions Kashiwa Reysol in the
semi-final on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium.
NORFOLK SHARX STILL HUNGRY FOR FIRST WIN Drop home match to Missouri 15-4
Norfolk, Virginia – The Norfolk SharX looked threatening in the first half of Saturday night's
game against Missouri at Norfolk Scope Arena but were only able to capitalize once for two points
during the first two periods.
Sitting down to type when one's lip is literally still quivering with rage must surely be
ill-advised, but how else to express sheer, undiluted incandescence? Here at AANP Towers we are
generally loath to criticise the officials, since their job is jolly difficult, their mistakes are
always honest and frankly I imagine that to a man the players make many more errors per game.

Saturday's El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid lived up to all expectations; there was
passion, spell-bounding skill and goals the only thing missing was the heavily anticipated Madrid
victory.
Controversy, bad luck and marvelous defensive play denied Manchester United a victory against
Newcastle United on Saturday as Sir Alex Ferguson's side only went home with a 1-1 draw despite
playing at Old Trafford.
The result obviously disappoints the Red Devils a lot as they could lose more grip in the title
chase with Manchester City, should their city rival managed to grab all three points in their
weekend game on Sunday.
Liverpool beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today with a fine solo run and shot by former Blue, Glen
Johnson went in on 87 mins.
The Reds opened the better and deservedly went ahead on 33mins with a Craig Bellamy pass to Maxi
Rodriguez who calmly scored the opening goal of the game.
Premier League leader, Manchester City became the only unbeaten side in the competition this
weekend after they successfully ended Newcastle United, who before the match had a similar record,
at the City of Manchester with a 3-1 scoreline.
Although the score might be a bit convincing but it wasn't actually an easy match for Roberto
Mancini's side as they needed individual errors from Newastle's defenders to start their domination
on the pitch.

Scree-grab from the livestreamingWhen asked after the loss to the Jordanians earlier in their first
meeting of the qualifiers if we still stand a chance of making to the next round, assistant coach V
Sundramoorthy said there's still "mathematical" chance of doing so if we could take "maximum points
out of the remaining matches".
Screen-grab off TV after the game was over...The just concluded match saw the Cubs walked away with
a 0-0 draw against the defending SEA Games champions Malaysia at the Senanyan in Jakarta in this

Due to work, I could only watched the second half of the match and therefore I am not in the best
position to give an all-round review of the match.
Two Londoners, Arsenal and Chelsea both failed to confirm their passage into the next round of
Champions League on Tuesday after they couldn't get the much needed three points from their
opponents.
The Gunners didn't managed to repeat their previous successful victory against Marseille after
being held into a stalemate against the French's side, meanwhile Chelsea surprisingly also couldn't
replicate their earlier success against Genk as the Blues only picked up a draw against the Belgium
side.
Belarussian minnows BATE Borisov grabbed their second Champions League point with a deserved 1-1
draw with Italian giants AC Milan with both keepers at their best, BATE keeper Alyaksandr Gutor was
the hero in the first half, while his opposite number in the Milan goal Christian Abbiati was
equally heroic in the second period in this highly entertaining Champions League tie.
It was a deja vu feeling all over again at the Emirates Stadium as Robin van Persie scored twice
within nine second half minutes to guide Arsenal to a huge 3-1 win over Stoke City.
Last weekend, van Persie needed to strike late to help his Gunners overcome Sunderland and this
time around, the story seemed to be awfully similar with the Potters in town.
I don't know what to think after today's 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions
League in Germany.
On the one hand, we started strong, a Jonas goal in the 24th minute just reward for our early
dominance.
Our defense looked solid; our offense wasn't scoring but we were getting opportunities and Bayer
didn't look dangerous save the last minutes of the first half.
After 110 minutes of play neither the Pioneers nor the Falcons could score a goal Saturday at
CIBER field at the University of Denver.
DU is now (2-4-3, 0-0-1 MPSF) and Air Force (6-2-1, 0-0-1 MPSF). Saturday's match was the opener
in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play for both sides.
Liverpool's derby day goal scorer Andy Carroll has expressed his delight at being able to
perform in the face of criticism during the Reds' massive 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.
The big forward, whose mobility, drinking habits, and overall fitness have all been questioned
in recent months by England manager Fabio Capello, among others, scored his first goal of the
season in style, silencing Goodison Park by giving Liverpool the lead midway through the second
half.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted that his side's lack of confidence did not warrant a win at
White Hart Lane but also accused Tottenham Hotspur's opening goal scorer Rafael Van der Vaart of
handling the ball in the build-up to his late first-half strike.
Van der Vaart controversially controlled the ball before slotting it past Wojciech Szczesny in
the Gunners' goal and although the Dutch midfielder celebrated dramatically with the Spurs faithful
on the touchline, Wenger was not convinced.
Two Manchester teams, continue their winning run in the premier league this weekend proving that
their disappointing results in Europe didn't really affect their domestic performances as both
successfully beaten their opponents this Saturday.
Manchester United bagged a 2-0 victory over their visitor, Norwich City, while the Eastlands
salvaged their Champions League defeat with a trashing over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Nicklas Bendtner was starting for the third time in a row when Sunderland travelled South to take
on newly promoted to the Barclays Premiership, Norwich City. You could tell that Nicklas and co
were getting a little more used to their roles and how each other play with some nice crisp passing
and some nice movement between all the new signings.
