A healthy Josh Gatt and Mexican-American midfielder Isaac Acuña are among the 22 players called
in for the next U.S. Under-23 training camp by coach Caleb Porter.
The camp will take place at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., before the group departs
for Costa Rica to play friendlies against Saprissa reserves on Jan.
Jon Levy You'll have to forgive all of us here at The Yanks Are Coming for getting into a
more-than-healthy amount of self-referencing in the coming months. We're coming up on the blog's
fourth birthday this summer, TYAC having been created in the wake of a very talented 2008 Olympic

While die-hard U.S. men's national team fans probably already have the lowdown on young West Ham
United defender Dan Potts, the reaction to some tweets about the 17-year-old left back suggests
that not everybody is aware of the story behind the latest promising foreign-born prospect eligible
to play for the United States.

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Sebastian Lletget hasn't had the easiest of times since signing with West Ham
United on his 18th birthday, but things are starting to look up for the U.S. Under-23 men's
national team midfielder.

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The U.S. Under-23 men's national team wrapped up its December camp with a
second intra-squad scrimmage on Thursday afternoon, and the competition for roster spots set the
tone for a physical and fiery match.
Split up into white and blue teams, the 29 players in camp (Bill Hamid left camp earlier in the
week due to family reasons) took part in a windy match at IMG Soccer Academy that saw its share of
physical play and rough challenges.
The December camp for the U-23 Men's National Team came to a close after eight days in Florida that
included eight training sessions on the field and two 90-minute intrasquad scrimmages. U-23 head
coach Caleb Porter and the coaching staff got a birds eye look at much of the player pool, and
spent significant time educating the group
Terence Boyd and Sebastian Lletget (pronounced leh-JET) put in two nice finishes in the game at the
IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton.

Gatt and a legend...
Matthew: So who are the key Americans abroad that US fans should truly be
excited by? So many times one goal is enough to chop a forest worth's of timber to power the hype
machine.
United States Men's National Team head coach Caleb Porter named five Philadelphia Union players
as part of his 28-man roster for the Olympic squad's December camp, today. The Union players make
up the largest group of club teammates on the team.
Freddy Adu, Zac MacMath, Jack McInerney, Amobi Okugo and Sheanon Williams will head to Florida
from December 15-28 to train with the rest of the under-23 team at the Premier Sports Campus.
Caleb Porter has named a 28-man roster for his first camp in charge of the U.S. U-23 men's
national team, and there's talent aplenty.
Freddy Adu, Teal Bunbury, Mikkel Diskerud and Bill Hamid are just some of the more well-known
names in the eight-day camp that will be held in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
While the USMNT has their January "Camp Cupcake" coming up, the US U-23s will head to Florida
under the direction of new coach Caleb Porter on December 15th, to participate in their own camp
("Camp Junior Mint?") in advance of next year's Olympic tournament.
The Dynamo's Danny Cruz, an unheralded name in the mix.
Midway through his third season at London-based club West Ham, Sebastian Lletget feels his choice
to move abroad has already paid dividends as he draws nearer to a first-team debut.
While the U.S. senior national team was busy getting a result in Slovenia, the U.S. Under-23
side training in Germany played to a draw and lost in a pair of friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen
reserve and youth sides.
A few days after topping VfL Bochum's reserve team and drawing against Azerbaijan's U-21 side,
the U-23s jumped out to a lead on a team comprised of Leverkusen's reserves and U-23s but settled
for a 1-1 draw.
Have had things popping on me all day, so the Paris gonzo is bumped again until tomorrow. For now,
let's do another one of these from my U-23 camp chat with Sebastian Lletget. On what the
Championship looks like up close:"I've never seen a second division like it. The pace is
ridiculous. Even if some players aren't as technically skilled, they make it up with their
endurance and drive.
The U-23 Team taking on BochumIn the first game the U-23 Men's National Team beat VfL Bochum 3-1. It was a combo of some pros on
Bochum as well as some youth players. Here's the lineup the U-23's put out:

The United States Under-20 national team is set to take on France in two friendlies this week,
one on Tuesday and one on Thursday, but two of the more highly touted Americans expected to play in
the games won't be available.
Sebastian Lletget and Joe Gyau, initally named to the roster for the trip, won't be with the
club "due to slight injuries they have picked up with their clubs," according to U.

The United States Under-20 men's national team won its World Cup qualifying group. It also shut
out both of its Group B opponents and scored six goals.
None of that matters anymore.
By Jon Levy Tonight is an important night for American soccer. Maybe not as important as last night
congrats to Real Salt Lake and Major League Soccer, by the way but important. Our berth in the
World Cup is on the line. Yes, it's the Under-20 World Cup, and no, you're not allowed to ignore
it. [.
