It's only a matter of time that the Indianapolis Colts let Peyton Manning walk. Since they have
the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and will select Andrew Luck, the Colts will let go of Manning
and go in a different direction.
With that in mind, where will Manning end up? Well, first of all, since he's dealing with a neck
injury, there's a chance he will retire.
Michael Vick's injury woes continue. For fantasy football owners and Philadelphia Eagles fans,
we have more bad news: Michel Vick is out for Thursday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Michael Vick will miss his third straight game due to broken ribs. Vince Young, who threw for a
career-high 400 yards last week against the New England Patriots, will start once again.
The fantasy football season is more than halfway finished. Is your team ready to compete for a
fantasy championship? If you need a little help, considering signing one of these waiver wire
pickups for Week 9 of the 2011 fantasy football season.
QB Tarvaris Jackson, Seattle Seahawks
Yeah, everyone hates Tarvaris Jackson.
There are a number of fantasy football sleepers in Week 8 of the fantasy season. If you are
battling byes or injuries, check out one of these plug-and-play options.
QB Matt Hasselbeck, Tennessee Titans
Matt Hasselbeck has at least one touchdown pass in every game this season.
This may seem blasphemous on its surface. I mean, who doesn't love Kasey Keller? Who doesn't
think he isn't the greatest American keeper, and maybe best U.S. player of all time? He is a
legend, an American Legend. He is one of the greatest keepers in his MLS play (playing time
caveat). Tens of thousands showed up to see him off, enough to make it the 4th largest soccer crowd
in the world.
A binding NFL-MLS link will always exist. The Hunt family and Kraft family were early MLS
pioneers, of course. Later, Paul Allen (Seattle Seahawks and Sounders) showed everyone how an
NFL-MLS partnership should look. Those two, to borrow from Forest Gump, go together like peas and
carrots.
So I'm a little perplexed about why one element that makes NFL so special has completely escaped
MLS ownership, which, again, are one in the same to a certain measure:
Earning a playoff spot in the National Football League is a special thing.
A great tight end can give you a huge advantage in fantasy football. In 2011, that advantage may
be even larger than normal due to the shortage of high quality players at that position. Here are
our tight end rankings for 2011 fantasy football:
1. Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
Last season, Antonio Gates was on fire .
It seems like yesterday that Lofa Tatupu was leading the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl.
Today, the Seahawks released the 28-year-old linebacker out of USC. Seattle asked him to take a cut
in pay. After Lofa Tatupu refused, the Seahawks cut ties.
This was definitely a surprising move by the Seahawks.
While this move wasn't unexpected in the least, the Tennessee Titans made it official on Tuesday
by releasing quarterback Vince Young. Once viewed as the future of the franchise, Vince Young has
fallen on tough times on and off the football field.
To replace Vince Young at quarterback, the Titans have signed veteran Matt Hasselbeck.
With news that the Seattle Seahawks won't re-sign Matt Hasselbeck, that means that the Seahawks
need a replacement quarterback. The answer may be a former quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.
According to NFL rumors, Tarvaris Jackson is close to signing with the Seahawks.
Tarvaris Jackson has a lot of talent and is a great athlete.
Matt Hasselbeck is an unrestricted free agent and it's now being reported that he won't re-sign
with the Seattle Seahawks. Hasselbeck has been the starting quarterback for the Seahawks since the
2002 season. He will now move on to a new team in free agency.
Last season, Hasselbeck struggled.

The Chicago Bears have been underrated all season. After beating the Seattle Seahawks 35-24 on
Sunday, the Bears are one win away from reaching the Super Bowl. The victory over the Seahawks was
actually easier than the final score indicates. With three minutes remaining, the Bears had a 35-10
advantage.
The Green Bay Packers against the Atlanta Falcons was really Aaron Rodgers against Matt Ryan.
These two rising star quarterbacks went head-to-head to decide who deserves superstar status. At
the final whistle, Aaron Rodgers was the superstar and Matt Ryan was the goat.
Aaron Rodgers was 31-for-36 for 366 yards and three touchdowns as the Packers killed the
Falcons, 48-21.
This weekend, there will be a total of eight NFL teams in action. This year's divisonal playoffs
promise to be fantastic. On Saturday, the Ravens play the Steelers and the Packers play the
Falcons. On Sunday, the Seahawks travel to play the Bears and then the Jets try to slay the favored
Patriots.
The Seattle Seahawks were the first team in NFL history to make the playoffs despite sporting a
losing record. The 7-9 Seahawks are now the first team with a losing record to win a playoff game.
On Saturday, the Seahawks stunned the Saints in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the NFL
playoffs.
There have been some great runs in the history of the NFL. However, Marshawn Lynch of the
Seattle Seahawks might have just authored the greatest run in the history of the league especially
when you consider the circumstances. As you can see in the video below, Marshawn Lynch ripped off a
67-yard run with less than four minutes remaining in the game between the Seahawks and the New
Orleans Saints, the NFL's defending Super Bowl champion.
These year's NFL Wild Card Weekend promises to be a great one. All four games are interesting
and history tells us we should expect at least one upset. With two games on Saturday and another
two games on Sunday, get ready to fire up your television, grab a few cold ones and watch some of
the best football of the year.
By any objective metric, the Seattle Seahawks were a bad team. In a 32-team league, they
finished 28th in offensive yards per game, 27th in yards allowed per game. They were 25th in points
scored, and also 25th in points allowed. The Seahawks had the 29th rated scoring differential in
the league at -97, which means they allowed 6 points a game more than they scored.
The 2010 NFL playoff schedule is set. The spots in the playoffs weren't decided until the final
game on Sunday night. In the AFC, the Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Chiefs, Ravens and Jets made the
playoffs. In the NFC, the Falcons, Bears, Eagles, Seahawks, Saints and Packers advanced to the
postseason.
