In my 2011 season preview, I predicted that Toronto would struggle for the first few months under

The transactions have mimicked the play on the field - fast and furious as MISL teams finalize
rosters, unveil uniforms, and prepare for the upcoming 2011-2012 season.
Here is a recap of all the happenings so far this week around MISL:

Sunday 23rd October 2011. Ewood Park. 3pm Kick off.
Sunday sees Spurs travel to Ewok Park (anyone else miss Soccer AM's days of actually being
funny?) to take on Blackburn. Before the season kicked off I did a guest appearance on The Elastico
podcast for their Premier League season preview.

In The Stands previews the Merseyside derby as Everton host Liverpool at Goodison Park by looking
back at three great clashes between the two clubs. New season, same old Merseyside derby. Guts,
tough tackles, controversy, heartbreak, bragging rights, city shame, red cards and pride all get
thrown into an explosive brew which, has in the [.
Season Preview: Roma Opening/Recap To say that Roma disappointed last season would be an
understatement, like proclaiming that peanut butter and jelly is a somewhat popular snack amongst
children. Claudio Ranieri tried to improve his side from the second place finish of the season
prior, but was ultimately sacked amongst a midst of horrible results.
Season Preview: Chievo Opening/Recap For a side that rarely spends massive amounts of money if any
at all, Chievo managed a fantastic 11th place finish last season. Coach Stefano Pioli organized a
side that was superb defensively, conceding the fourth lowest amount of goals of all the teams in
Serie A- Only Lazio, Napoli, and Milan conceded fewer.
The 2011 NCAA men's soccer season is set to kick off this weekend, meaning another year of
exciting action across the country featuring future pro stars who could eventually play key roles
for the U.S. men's national team.
Defending champion Akron lost most of its top players to MLS last year, but the Zips still head
into the new season as one of the leading candidates to lift the NCAA championship trophy again in
December.
Season Preview: Genoa Opening/Recap Genoa's tenth place finish last season could be viewed as a
disappointment from a number of angles. Most strikingly, the side had finished a place higher the
season prior and could have hoped to fight for a European spot last campaign. Out went Marco
Amelia and in came Eduardo to fill in between the sticks a move that should have turned out to be
much.
Season Preview: Catania Opening/Recap Catania finished last season in a relatively comfortable 13th
position, exactly the same as the season before earning a point more in the process- which was a
record for the club for the third year in a row. The side featured an exciting mix of stalwarts and
rising youngsters, such as Matias Silvestre and Ezequiel Schelotto.
Season Preview: Cagliari Opening/Recap Despite a very poor run at the end of the season, which saw
the side pick up a mere two points out of their last 6 games, Cagliari managed a 14th place finish.
Considering the departure of star striker Alessandro Matri in January to Juventus, their position
in the table becomes more understandable.
Bologna captain Di Vaio (original photo by Reuters) Season Preview: Bologna Opening/Recap Bologna
had a respectable campaign last season, avoiding relegation by five points after being docked a
total of three one for unpaid taxes and two for unpaid wages. Financial difficulties aside, the
Rossoblu would have finished tied for fourteenth place without such penalties.
Liverpool's Strikeforce: Luis Suarez & Andy Carroll
I should have spent more time on Sunderland in my preview of their match versus Liverpool, but I
didn't want to make it a season preview. They definitely need to add attacking options and put a
leash on Lee Cattermole. But Stéphane Sessègnon is impressive; Ahmed Elmohamady, Kieran
Richardson & Gyan are all big factors, and their back line was well organized, essentially making
Andy Carroll irrelevant.
Showing off is generally considered a distasteful trait in life. Right from when we are
toddlers, we are schooled not to show of our bright new shoes, because Timmy doesn't have one see?
If you have nice shoes, you wear them to school and act as if nothing happened. It's slightly
different in sports though, because a lot of the point of a game itself is the other person NOT
winning.

Man, it feels good to type such a headline once again. Football is back and there is something
to look forward to even if it isn't with the greatest of optimism.
I haven't done the season preview yet because a lot is bound to happen between now and the end
of the season. I want to wait for the transfer window to close and see a couple of games,
especially of Chelsea and Liverpool, before making any predictions.
The Game Newcastle. Then Udinese. Then Liverpool. Then Udinese. Then Manchester United. Welcome to
Arsenal, welcome to my first season preview. I would like to start by offering an apology to all
those waiting for my last ...
Part 2 of my season preview sees me look at the chances of the mid tablers. If it pans out
anything like last season, these predictions could be all over the shop and separated by just 8
points come May. I'm on a hiding to nothing really ain't I hey?
We continue....

The Trotters disappointed me last season, I thought Owen Coyle really had something but the
longer the season went on, the worse they got.

The Biggest Manchester United Season Preview You'll Ever Read - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
Imagine that you're appointed manager of Manchester United tomorrow morning. The world is at
your feet. You have (statistically speaking) the best team in the world alongside Barcelona in club
football and you have a phenomenally talented young squad that will win titles before it reaches
it's full potential.
The season hath arrived. Well, not for another 24 hours and change, but whatever.
As we prepare ourselves for such a grandiose occasion, we must first transform a Maybach into
some twisted machine out of Mad Max. Sophisticated ignorance.
Now, with that out of the way, we can look forward to the immediate future of Chelsea Football
Club.
Have you ever had a live bat supersonic its way millimetres from your ear in the dead of night?
I am not a boy easily prone to fear, I have sat through many-a defensive set-piece with mouth set
and hand steady, but hearing a creepy chirrup and a sudden beating of wings next to my earlobe as I
was peacefully taking a whizz in my college lavatory scared the bejesus out of me.

We haven't taken it upon ourselves to do too much in terms of season previewing we figure most
of you are already up to speed on how this is the season that Joe Cole makes his impact and the
restorative properties of Christian Poulsen's alice band. By force of habit, though, we've put
together a few assorted ramblings; Noel wrote this non-preview for SBNation a few days ago and
organized a roundtable with other Liverpool bloggers, so this will serve as my supplement to those
posts you'll notice a few similarities between the questions asked and answered in this and the
roundtable post, so go ahead and chime in wherever you'd like.
The difference a year makes. From Hicks and Gillett setting the club's money on fire to FSG opening
the checkbook at will. From an owl-faced over-matched media darling who "deserved a chance" as
manager to the club's greatest living legend. Checking under couch cushions for the privilege of
buying Konchesky and Poulsen to slightly less than £50m spent on Adam, Doni, Downing, Enrique, and
Henderson.
Liverpool FC Season Preview
With the season staring us full in the face, it's time to go one more, but the question many
Liverpool fans are asking is just where will our fortunes take us come May? From the optimists who
believe that Manchester United's '19′ will be equalled in short order, to the pessimists who
believe that not enough has been done to reclaim a place at Europe's top table, there are wide
ranging views on the success of Liverpool's summer.

part one and have predicted that City would finish second, Liverpool third, Arsenal fourth and
Chelsea and Spurs fighting it out [.

The final weekend before the Premier League kicks off is over, and all that separates us from
competitive football is five long days of work (or daytime TV, depending on your current
situation). We're coming to the end of the Worst Pre-Season Ever (copyright), our squad is
paper-thin with no real sign of reinforcements, and Rooney is not just a big-mouthed, balding
granny shagger, he also believes that coming back from 2-0 down represents a "footballing
lesson".

Chelsea To Pip Manchester United To The Title 2011/2012 Premier League Preview - originally
posted on Soccerlens.com
It's been a strange summer. Given that last season saw the Premier League's top teams treat
first place like a hot potato, and given that Manchester United's relatively turgid trudge over the
finishing line ahead of a resurgent but technically limited Chelsea, a
cautious-bordering-on-paranoid Manchester City and Arsenal's theatre de l'absurd, one
might have expected the world's richest league to have buzzed with transfer activity.
Can Arsenal Survive In The Top Four? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Displaced by Manchester City last season and not able to sign the players they need yet. Arsenal
are looking towards another disappointing season unless Arsene Wenger can somehow get his current
team to perform as well as their potential.

Following his contribution to our recent season preview, Coventry blogger Neil Allison has left his
excellent Sky Blues Blog with the childminder once again. This time, Neil files an early progress
report on much-fancied Leicester, who met Cov in 2011-12's first Saturday lunchtime affair.
Leicester City are a club with only one thing on their mind.
Quick Reminder, Real Life With Manchester City a stronger outfit it was always going to be
difficult for Tottenham to repeat their Top 4 finish - especially with their first Champions League
campaign running in parallel - but they didn't do themselves any favours in the Premier League.
They added quality/experience in Van Der Vaart and Gallas and had Bale, Modric, Dawson and (the
underrated)
Quick Reminder, Real Life Finishing in a dead heat (on points) for third in the Championship with
Welsh rivals Cardiff City, the Swans made the grade in the playoffs on the strength of a Scott
Sinclair hat trick against Reading. An odd team, they were the 2nd strongest defensive team in the
league and managed an impressive 23 clean sheets.
We are grateful today to the Bristol City matchday programme for allowing us to co-publish an
article from Paul Binning aka The Exiled Robin, one of the contributors to our recent season
preview. Here, Paul looks at the extraordinary impact of social media on the game and in particular
Twitter. When you bear in mind Twitter only came into being five years ago, its growth has been
phenomenal.
