So in last week's preview I added in a few sentences about just how excellent an idea it was to
move a W-League game to Shepparton, citing the 'Canberra effect'. Which is, there isn't much else
happening there over summer so why not move women's games to areas where they don't have to compete
with men's for attention?

The Offside 03 November @ 11:32 AM EST
This is slightly late in the game, as it's a preview for the Norwegian 2009 Tippeligaen. The same
Tippeligaen season which ended on Sunday. (Rosenborg are celebrating their 15th title in 17 years
while Norway of off celebrating parity.) But this little season preview has popped up and it bears
a striking resemblance to the [.

I remember reading in the FourFourTwo season preview that around half of fans wish for
the season was that their club would be taken over by a foreign billionaire.
There are plenty of examples where clubs have improved greatly under new investment, whether

In part two of his season preview, Kais Sabir Jesani explores a key tactical problem that has the
potential to derail Liverpool in the quest for the Premiership title this year.

In part four of his season preview, Kais Sabir Jesani looks at Ryan Babel's tactical role in the
Liverpool team. Could this be the Dutchman's year or will he flatter to deceive yet again?
In part 3 of this preview, I discussed how Lucas Leiva's career seems to be in the ascendency. In
sharp contrast, Ryan Babel is a player whose Liverpool career arc seems to be heading in the
opposite direction.

Sir Alex Ferguson has (predictably) dismissed Liverpool's chances of winning the league this
season, believing that the main threat to Manchester United's dominance will come from Chelsea. Is
he right? In a three-part season preview, Kais-Sabir Jesani refutes Ferguson's churlish claims and
outlines why Liverpool fans have every reason to be optimistic about the season ahead.

1. Welcome Back
I considered writing a season preview - Hell, I might even still do it - but I
didn't want to overwhelm you with more than one post during a summer.
As such, we pick up where we left off, under a sweltering sun playing against a team who don't
appear to be good enough for this division.

Everton 1-6 Arsenal
Here I am again, eight days since I last fired up the blog. I've been away, breathing in deep
gulps of bracing coastal air, and though I had access to a laptop and a broadband connection, I let
the blogging go fallow. So no season preview seems a bit late now anyway.

May 27th was a day of mixed emotions for me. On the one hand my club suffered a devastating loss
that led many to question whether or not they could remain a world class side. On the other, my
girlfriend experienced bloodlust for the first time, as obnoxious Barcelona fans nearly caused a
small scale riot in our section of the bar.

BWFC24's round up of Premier League Previews for the 2009–2010 season which starts tomorrow,
Saturday, August 15, 2009.
Overall, the predictions for The Wanderers is fairly grim, as you might expect. On average
Bolton are expected to finish around 13th or 14th. Personally I think BWFC will finish higher than
expected, hopefully in the top 10 and may reach the semi-finals in either the FA or Leauge Cup.

When I wrote a quick post about the fixture list in mid-June it was never my intention for that to
be my last blog post for a couple of months. However, whilst I wrote a couple of half pieces I
never finished them off. July saw a month of particularly hard work and to say I've had limited
internet access so far this month is a massive understatement.

My Anfield 13 August @ 04:37 AM EST
Regular readers are no doubt all too familiar with my preference for concise posts. With that in
mind, I thought I'd take my own shot at a season preview (seeing as everyone else is doing
one).
Through a combination of winning and drawing games, I reckon Liverpool will finish with more points
than any other team this season.

Wolves finally get second crack at the Premier League, but it remains to be seen if their squad is
anything but one for the Championship. To be honest Wolves is probably the team I'm least familar
with. I don't know why really. They've been on my radar for a while thanks to an old friend who
was a rabid Wolves fan (Hi, Steve!

Wigan has quietly become a favorite club of mine. I don't know why. Maybe I liked Palacios as a
player, or because they brought in blog favorites like Jason Koumas and Charles N'Zogbia. Or maybe
because Rodallega inexplicably scored against Manchester United when I had him on my team for a
2-game week.

What to say about West Ham? They are the very definition of a midtable club. Ambitious to a
point, but hampered by history and finance. They have a young, exciting squad and a manager in
Zola who will look to utilize that vibrancy. They have a solid defence with depth at center back
and the under-rated Robert Green between the sticks.

Another year, another bandwagon for Spurs to make it into Europe or even break into the elite. But
while there are signs of progress, it wouldn't be Spurs without their seemingly repeating their
mistakes. So for every good signing like Palacios, who gives them a real presence in midfield,
there is a head-scratcher like Naughton.

Stoke City were very, very good to me last season. Their fixture list fell just perfect so that
their last few months were a cake walk. Not that I cleaned up, but I did get good returns from
Lawrence, Beattie and Wilkinson. Meanwhile, Fuller and Shawcross were point machines.
Now it's second season syndrome.

Pompey are a team on the up. They've the perfect manager in 'arry who will get the most out of a
club with limited means. They've got lots of young talent to build around including Crouch, Defoe,
Muntari, Diarra, and Glen Johnson.
Wait... what? All those players are gone? 'arry is at Spurs?

August is here. With a week of the year's eighth month in the books, there remains but one more
before the English Premier League season kicks off.
To put it plainly, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning.
The summer has been agonizingly slow for me. Writing match reports on FC Dallas beating the
Kansas City Wizards 6-0 should be interesting, as there were goals, but hey.

In lieu of a longer (much longer) narrative, I'm going to go with bullet points for different
thoughts, similar to how I treated the Aquilani transfer. Even in this format it clocks in at
almost 1300 words. I can't help being verbose, and there are a few factors to take into
account.
On Monday, I actually predicted Liverpool would win the league.
