Apparently the first recorded example of football boots were owned by Henry VIII.
Football boots: worn by oversexed egomaniacs since 1526.
The description of Hank's boots - heavy, leather, ankle high - actually chimes with the general
principles of the humble boot through much of the last 150 years or so.
The Scottish Football Blog's first ever 24 hour blogathon takes place on 19 November.
Both the charities I'm fundraising for are close to my heart. One of them, Alzheimer Scotland, I've
chosen for particularly personal reasons.
To see dementia take hold of someone you love is horrific.
On 19 November I'm going to be a doing a 24 hour blogathon. A (minimum 500 words) post every hour
for 24 hours.
One of the organisations I'll be fundraising for is the Homeless World Cup.
Here's why:
There are
one billion homeless people in the world today.
That figure is so big as to be almost incomprehensible.
Bloggers, the Scottish Football Blog needs you!
On 19-20 November I'm doing a 24 hour blogathon to raise money for the Homeless World Cup and
Alzheimer Scotland.
I'll be writing (and researching) a 500 word (or more) blog post every hour for 24 hours.
And I need your help.
I was ruminating on Twitter last night about the Scottish Football Blog approaching twin

The blog is closing in on 1000 posts and its fifth birthday.
How to celebrate? The idea of Jimmy Boco appearing at a blog testimonial did appeal. But I'm fatter
than Paul Kane and worse at football than Joe Tortolano so the opportunity for humiliation seems
too great.
A quiet June for me on the blogging front.
Everyone needs a break. Expecially if they spend too much time thinking about, writing about and
watching Scottish football.
What have I missed?
A Romanov rant, this one wrapped up in an apparent defence of a convicted sex offender, followed by
Hearts applying the handbrake and deciding on the course of action that most expected them to
follow in the first place.
