Shocking news out of Scotland where Rangers have filed notice of their intention to enter
administration as they admitted they could be facing a tax bill of 'substantially more than
£50million'.
Rangers lodged papers at the Court of Session in Edinburgh and said a final decision would be
taken in the next two weeks.

Five months is all that separates the U.S. men's national team from the start of its World Cup
qualifying campaign, and a friendly against Scotland appears to be in the works prior to then.
According to a report in Scotland, the U.S. Soccer Federation is in talks with the Scottish
Football Association over a potentialy friendly.
The Scotland adidas 2011/13 home kit (now available at World Soccer Shop) was unveiled back in
October and has since seen match action in matches against Spain and Cyprus. Recently, adidas
launched the kit at a Glasgow mall using the latest in Augmented Reality technology that let
Scotland fans pose next to lifelike computer-generated versions [.
Manager Craig Levein has revealed Scotland missed the opportunity to persuade Sebastian Coates to
play for their national side – but are determined not to miss out on Liverpool FC player Jonjo
Shelvey.
Levein says Scottish Football Association officials have already been in contact with Jonjo Shelvey
about him changing football allegiance from England.
Wales continued their recent run of impressive results with an emphatic four-one win over Norway
at the Cardiff City Stadium. Goals from Gareth Bale, Craig Bellamy and Sam Vokes earned Wales their
fourth win in five games. Whilst the team on the pitch overran their Scandinavian visitors, though,
the fans in the ground were largely otherwise occupied, trying to make a stand against Team GB.

Meandering through The Sunday Post (the scrapes that Oor Wullie finds himself in!) I spotted
something in Brian Fowlie's TV review of Scotland's spectacular win in Liechtenstein:
"Craig Mackail-Smith's goal calmed things for a while, I'll swear the commentators paused to take a
breath.
"I did wonder if the Brighton striker was the first player with a hyphenated name to score for
Scotland.

Building up to this week's final round of group qualifying fixtures for the 2012 European
Championships, BBC Radio Scotland has produced short audio pastiches daily on their
Sportsound programme featuring new interviews with former Scottish national team players
along with rebroadcasting some audio caught in the moment after some big matches.
Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam has pulled out of Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Lithuania
due to a hip injury, the Scottish Football Association has announced.
Adam picked up the knock during Saturday's 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic at Hampden Park and was
forced off the pitch in the 79th minute.
Carolina RailHawks head coach Martin Rennie, 36, has been named as head coach of the MLS
Vancouver Whitecaps, beginning after the completion of the 2011 season. Rennie, who is in his
third season with the RailHawks, has already qualified the club for a playoff spot with almost a
third of the season to go, fashioning a 14-2-3 record and a twelve point cushion at the top of the
NASL table over second place Puerto Rico.

Rumbling along quietly along in the background, the ongoing argument over whether a Great
Britain team should take part in the 2012 London Olympics has been one of the slow-burning debates
within British football over the last half-decade or so, but this debate ignited this afternoon
after a series of statements, made in turn by the British Olympic Association, the Football
Association, the Scottish Football Association and the Football Association of Wales, which already
seems likely to turn into a full-blown argument.
by Tony Attwood A little while ago the Scottish Football Association threatened to sue a QC who
accused it of being "dishonest", "dysfunctional" and "biased". As far as I know, they didn't, but
the mere fact that they said they might, shows that something is amiss in football in the north of
the UK. If [.
Here come old flattop he come grooving up slowly He got joo-joo eyeball he one holy roller He got
hair down to his knee Got to be a joker he just do what he please
Beware. The SPL's very own old flattop fool hoves into view once more.
Neil Doncaster has been keeping a low profile of late, consumed as we have been with summits and
spats, songs and suspensions.
The main hazard attached to stridency of opinion is that you are often wrong. Sometimes, my
success rate is in line with a stopped clock. And it appears my suggestion that Celtic were more
sinned against than sinner in their recent Scottish Cup victory over Rangers was wide of the mark.
The Scottish Football Association's disciplinary process has found Celtic manager Neil Lennon to be
primarily responsible for the disgraceful scenes during and after the match, scenes that were so
shameful they needed a Scottish government summit to sort out.

It's a time transition at the NASL.
The second-tier of American soccer revealed several changes this morning as David Downs was
introduced as commissioner, a new logo was unveiled and a redesigned website was launched.
Downs is the former executive director of the unsuccessful USA World Cup bid and will officially
take office on April 4th.
Scotland officials have denied Brazilian forward Neymar was the victim of racist abuse during the
friendly match between the two teams at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Neymar told reporters after the game that a banana was thrown on the pitch in his direction and
that he was the target for racist chants during Brazil's 2-0 victory over Craig Levein's side.
IN a move that has surprised commentators throughout Scottish Football, the SPL have supported
terms to introduce a 10-team premier league.
The proposed new league format seemed to be out of favour after being tabled my SPL Chief
Executive Neil Doncaster back in November, attracting criticism and opponents from the off.
