The time is now for Kenny Cooper if he wants to get Bob Bradley's attention for 2010. With two
friendlies on the horizon in November, steady play from the tall forward would likely earn up at
least a spot when the rosters are announced next month.

In the build up to this Sunday's game, we step back into the Archives on May 10 1980 and

Hawick Royal Albert 0 – 7 HuntlyNot a result to raise too many eyebrows. Not, in fact, a
scoreline I would ever have imagine myself writing.Yet this Active Nation Scottish Cup first round
tie is suddenly in the middle of a match fixing storm after it emerged a number of bookmakers had
expressed concerns to the police about some of the betting patterns on the game.

Just last week, UEFA announced 40 further investigations into match-fixing
claims, but as Jonathan Wilson points out in the Guardian, this has elicited little
interest in the British press. Wilson notes that even though most of the concerns are related to
Eastern Europe, "fixers" have been moving westward for some time with German referee Robert Hoyzer
jailed for his role in match-fixing a full four years ago.

On the day French striker Marc-Antoine Fortune (finally) signs at Celtic, Inside Left takes a
look at another Celtic striker from days gone by - the great Jimmy McGrory.
In the days when football was considerably more physical than it is today, it's almost
impossible to believe that a player who stood only 5ft 6in could be not only his clubs greatest
ever goal scorer, but also - to this day - Britain's top goal scorer of all time.

The word 'legend' has been thrown around a lot these last few days in the pubs of Aberdeen.
There's talk of rekindling the spirit of '83, of domestic success and of fortress Pittodrie around
the Aberdeen FC forums and fansites.
If, as is widely expected, Mark McGhee returns to the club where he more than earned his legend
status, he can expect a mostly warm welcome from the Pittodrie support hankering for success after
many years in the footballing wilderness.

I was so tempted to ape the feel of the misleading headline that first brought this story to my
attention: "John Barnes set for Rovers Role". He's taking over Blackburn? I thought. Ah... (after

So when it came time for my own sensationalist slant on things, how about: John Barnes To Return

Rangers are also after an 18th domestic double, their 110th domestic trophy, while also trying

boring end of season snorefest.
