It's another week of former SKC Wizards updates. First, congratulations to two former Wizards. Tony
Meola was officially inducted into the US Soccer hall of fame last week before the US game vs
Brazil. Also, Alex Bunbury, father of current Wizard, Teal Bunbury, was named to Canada's all time
starting XI.
Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. First congratulations to former Wizard, Herculez Gomez
and Santos Laguna, who won the Mexican Clausura title this past week. Also, two former Wizards have
new teams. Mike Jones has joined FC Hjorring in the Danish second division and will join in July..

Here is this week's former SKC Wizards update. A week from now, the new season for former SKC
Wizards will start with MLS teams kicking off in the CCL. Plenty of former Wizards are working to
get contracts, JT Murray is currently on trial with LA, Stephane Auvray is on trial with Columbus,
and Scott Sealy looks set to sign with Dallas.
Another week of former Wizards updates. Eddie Johnson did sign with MLS, he ended up going to
Montreal, but the Impact traded him to Seattle for Mike Fucito and Lamar Neagle. Another former
Wizard has a new club as well, as Rauwshan McKenzie has officially signed with Chivas USA after
being on trial with them all of preseason.
The MLS season is getting closer, and we're approaching the end of the former SKC Wizards season.
Some former are still on trial with different teams, including Scott Sealy who looks set to sign
with Dallas. In other news, former player, Scott Lorenz, will be playing in Florida this year with
the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, who had former players Aaron Hohlbein and Abe Thompson on the team
last year.
Here's your former SKC Wizards update for this week. Lots of news, including 6 new former Wizards.
Jeferson, Scott Lorenz, Craig Rocastle, Seth Sinovic, Ryan Smith, and Milos Stojcev are all now
classified officially as former Wizards. Also in the news is the movement of Tyson Wahl, who was
traded from Seattle to Montreal for allocation money.
Here's this week's former SKC Wizards update. Not many matches this week as lots of teams were off
for the international break. Here's the rest of the update.

Stephane Auvray - New York - No game this week.
This week's former SKC Wizards update is here. Some other news this week, Ryan Smith has left his
trial with Real Zaragoza as the parties couldn't come to an agreement for the winger. Scoot Lorenz
has joined this list for the time being while on his loan with Minnesota. Speaking of loans, Ryan
Pore has departed Portland on loan, heading back to the NASL to play for the Montreal Impact.
Opening weekend of the 2012 NASL season saw no shortage of drama, especially in South Florida
where the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers overcame being a man down to earn their first three points of the
season.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers announced the signing of former Stars' defender Scott Lorenz for the
upcoming 2012 season, while the Carolina RailHawks have inked two players who grew up in the nearby
area. Â The San Antonio Scorpions have added Mexican Liga de Ascenso club Club Dorados, the current
team of Mexican legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco to their [.
Wednesday evening saw three NASL matches played in the shadows of the always-intense USA-Mexico
friendly which marked the debut of USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann. But the NASL clubs put on a good
show, as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers increased their winning streak to three games by defeating
NSC Minnesota 1-0, while the Puerto Rico Islanders recorded their second consecutive shutout by
downing the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-0 in Bayamon.

The silly season is still going on and more news is coming out with regards to Sporting KC players.
While Shavar Thomas was on trial with Portsmouth, and Stephane Auvray looks to be on his way out of
KC, other news is coming out. First is news that Sporting KC's lone Generation Adidas player, Teal
Bunbury, has been attracting interest abroad still.
Rumors had been flying since Friday evening's Stars win against Montreal that Minnesota were
looking to bolster their roster with another player. Speculation was that it would most likely be
someone who could help in the midfield and would probably be a loan player from a Major League
Soccer team.

No players with Wisconsin ties were taken by the Montreal Impact and coach Jesse Marsch
(Racine) in today's Major League Soccer expansion draft.
However, two former University of Wisconsin teammates were waived by their teams after the
draft: Sporting Kansas City released defender Scott Lorenz and the New York Red Bulls cut
ties with goalkeeper Alex Horwath.
Racine native Jesse Marsch will have five players with Wisconsin ties to choose from
Wednesday when Major League Soccer holds an expansion draft to help stock the roster for the
Montreal Impact.
New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Alex Horwath (UW), FC Dallas keeper Josh Lambo
(Middleton), Sporting Kansas City defender Scott Lorenz (UW) and the San Jose Earthquakes
duo of defender Tim Ward (Waukesha) and forward Ellis McLoughlin (Madison) are among
the players made available.
Outside back, Scott Lorenz was supposed to be on loan to the NSC Minnesota Stars for the rest of
the season. The Stars today though announced that they have terminated the loan deal and that
Lorenz is returning to Kansas City. KC coach, Peter Vermes confirmed that Lorenz was returning
today. In his last appearance on Wednesday with the Stars, Lorenz played only 42 minutes before
being subbed out in the first half by Minnesota coach, Manny Lagos, against FC Tampa.
Sporting KC made 4 more roster moves today, waiving four players before today's waiver draft. KC
waived Jeferson, Craig Rocastle, Milos Stojcev, and Scott Lorenz. Jeferson Rocastle, and Stojcev
all three take up international spots that are now open to be used next year.
Today also marked the start of the waiver period in MLS. This kind of thing probably will
continue to get flushed out a little more over time now that the league has the Re-Entry drafts
that will be coming up in the next couple of weeks. For the most part any of these players below
just weren't good enough or were too pricy to be apart of that Re-Entry Draft.
Immediately following the Montreal Impact's expansion draft, MLS conducted its waiver draft, and
only one selection was made.
The Philadelphia Union used their spot in the order to nab former Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder
Nizar Khalfan. An energetic, athletic winger, the Tanzanian international scored a goal and
assisted on four others this past season with Vancouver.
Today the league released the list of players that have been exposed by their teams for Wednesday's
expansion draft for the Montreal Impact. Plenty of arguments are made about how bad the expansion
draft is. Teams do work to develop players than have to lose one of those players to an expansion
team.
Among the highlights of the Dynamo Reserves' 2-0 win yesterday morning over the Kansas City
Wizards Sporks are a couple of very nice finishes from Alex Dixon and Colin Clark. When thinking
beyond this season, it's getting pretty clear that Dixon is a serious asset. Check out the moves he
makes to create space in a dangerous area before cooly finishing the chance.
Earlier this week, Thad and I got together and recorded a new edition of From the Byline to the
Back Post. This week Thad and I discussed player news, including Scott Lorenz's return and new
players salaries. We also discussed the games against Houston and Real Salt Lake as well as this
weekend's women's game between the US and Canada, with a sprinkle of Comets news at the end.
Last night Peter Vermes selected a squad well capable of defeating the Richmond Kickers and
advancing in the US Open Cup. The team's starting back line for the past few games was starting,
the midfield had 3 players that have all gotten plenty of first team minutes in league play, and
the forward line had 2 players that have represented their national team.
