Slippery Stoke

White Hart Pain 22 October @ 03:21 AM EST

As I do with most home games against any teams outside the top few teams in the Premier League, I'd expect victory for Spurs against Stoke. Tony Pulis has done wonders firstly to get his club into the league and secondly, turning them into a formidable top flight side.

While Stoke are renowned for their home form, they have also been a lot more solid on the road this season than they were last.

STEVE CRONIN!

D.C. United 1: 0 Columbus Crew
Six Word Novel Recap A decent team, with terrible supporters.
Let me just start by saying that Steve Cronin impressed the hell out of me last night. He played confidently, and he did not hesitate to come off of his line or even out of the box. At one point last night, he ran almost to the corner flag to shield a Crew player off the ball until it ran out for a goal kick. Click to continue reading...

Match Preview: Liverpool vs Fiorentina

Joga Bonito Mundo 27 September @ 02:23 PM EST

Torres is in find form for the Reds.

This should be an interesting match. You have to think, given Liverpool's Champions League pedigree, that they should not have much of a problem with Italian side Fiorentina.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Fiorentina are an impressive fourth place in the Serie A at this point in the season and have been playing some brilliant football despite losing Melo to Juventus during the summer.

Sol, Sick Chelsea Fans and Super Crouch

White Hart Pain 24 September @ 03:20 AM EST

I know as soon as I dare to mention Sol Campbell's name, hundreds of people get straight on the comments to jump to his defence, but the bloke is seriously unbalanced. He's gone from one of the best defenders in the country to one of the biggest jokes in a relatively short space of time. I doubt he'd sign for Arsenal if he could have his time again; it all started going wrong from that point!

After four weeks of the English season gone so far, we're already seeing some trends set in with Chelsea topping the league being unbeaten this far, Manchester City setting an interesting tone in their new spending power and with the club not competing in European competition at all it should be interesting in how Mark Hughes can balance the squad and keep everyone happy with rotating.
