Liverpool Hope University used in Nigerian scam

"The name of Liverpool Hope University has been used in an internet scam.

About 15 students in Nigeria have been sent fraudulent degree offer letters purporting to be from Liverpool Hope University.

The bogus educational and scholarship agencies have then asked the applicants for non-refundable acceptance fees. Click to continue reading...

Chris Agorsor Named Gatorade Player of the Year

Thought I'd point you to a young man getting plenty of attention following the completion of the US Soccer Developmental Academy Finals last week. The Baltimore Bays won the U18 age group and were led by Chris, who recently completed his high school degree a semester early at private school McDonogh in Baltimore, who he also led to a State title last November.

School spirit

I've been thinking back again to the Development Academy conflicting with high school soccer instead of the entrenched youth club system. The sad part about that is - school soccer is where the sport is truly egalitarian. Unlike club soccer, there are no expensive fees that mean a player's parents are either shelling out the dough, or a player is a scholarship ringer on the team. Click to continue reading...

Anheuser-Busch and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) are partnering with Major League Soccer for "Budweiser Atajadas por la Educación," a program offering scholarships to Latino students throughout the United States.

Chicago Fire, Chivas USA, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, Real Salt Lake, and San Jose Earthquakes are the nine participating clubs. Click to continue reading...
