We are now in high gear with the regular season in club football and the schedule demonstrates it. I lost count at 40-something as the number of matches being broadcast this weekend. It should be enough to keep people with even the most severe cases of football-ADD happy.

Sie hatten sich so viel vorgenommen für die Partie gegen den FC Schalke 04 am 9. Spieltag der Saison 2009/2010. Es sollte alles besser gemacht werden im Vergleich zur Heimniederlage gegen den SV Werder Bremen. Denn da hatte wirklich alles gefehlt – es wurde nicht gekämpft, es lief nicht viel zusammen, am Ende hieß es 0:2 und der VfB war richtig in der Krise.

After feeling pain in his surgically-repaired leg, and sitting for three more weeks with the hope of having the pain subside, Jones has now undergone another surgery. This time he had the metal plate in his leg removed, a procedure that will sideline him for at least six more weeks, German newspaper Bild reported on Wednesday.
