The first edition of this Europa League will have some captivating matchups in the quarterfinals as

The all-Spanish affair will have a great deal of fanfare east side of the Iberian penninsula. Both
sides are out of the La Liga race and their respective form has been suspect to say the least.

When Jose Maria Aguilar left the club earlier this year, everyone believed it was the end of the
nightmare. During his time as president River managed to breach every negative record; finishing
last in the league, the longest losing streak, the longest amount of games without scoring and
being disqualified year after year in the early stages of international tournaments against small
teams.

Benfica officially love the passive offside rule. The "1″ in a 1-0 Benfica derby victory over
Porto is above, and you can instantly tell just where this whole passive offside bit may come into
play. Oscar Cardozo (I think) was enjoying a seat on the goal line whilst Javier Saviola bagged
that winner halfway through the [.

Everton another painful lesson at Goodison Park. The two-goal margin
of victory could actually have been larger, the Portuguese side missing several chances to increase
the embarrassment for Moyes's men. In the event, Benfica settled for two second half goals, one

This season has not started the best for Everton, so far they have been unable to recapture the
form they showed last season in the league and  sit a lowly 13th. Couple this with two heavy
defeats and the hands of Benfica in the Europa league and things aren't looking so rosy for David
Moyes and his men.

Firme opositor al nuñismo, fue lo suficientemente oportunista como para integrarse en la

A resurgent AEK overcame a depressing 4-0 thrashing to Everton two weeks ago to grind out a
surprising but deserved 1-0 victory over Portugeuese powerhouse club Benfica FC.
The night started dismally for AEK. Playing what I believe was a 4-2-3-1 with Saja in goal and
Juanfran, Arce, Marjstorovic, and Gorgeas in the back, Kafes and Jahic in defensive midfield roles,
Manduca, Scocco and Hersi forming a three-man attacking line and Blanco playing lone goal-poacher
up top, AEK struggled for possession early on.
