Mad About Fútbol 31 August @ 12:26 AM EST
It had been over 12 years since Anthony D'Avila last scored a goal in Colombian football. His goal against Pereira on February 2, 1997 was thought by many to be the last one of his career at least in his native Colombia. With seconds remaining between América and Santa Fe, the former Colombian international did what came instinctively during his career. Click to continue reading...

Click to continue reading...

Coach quits after just a month because of death threats

AT THE FAR POST 30 June @ 02:41 PM EST
Another crazy story from the world of Columbian football.
Santa Fe coach Ruben Israel resigned and left Colombia on Monday after being threatened with death if he did not keep a particular player in his squad.
The 51-year-old Uruguayan, who had not even coached them in a competitive game yet, said he had received calls on his mobile from a man claiming to be a member of the hardcore Santa Fe fanbase and demanding that central defender Francisco Najera should be a part of his squad. Going From Bad To Worse In South America

Coach quits team he hasn’t managed yet after death threats

Just another crazy day in Colombia Ruben Israel, the Uruguayan coach of Colombia outfit Santa Fe, has quit his post after receiving death threats.
