In a match from Argentina's Liga Regional de San Francisco between Sociedad Sportiva Devoto and Rivadavia de Rio Primero, the referee showed a red card to a Rio Primero defender for his goal-saving handball in a way that was either very nice or very creepy, depending on how you look at it.

Stabbing And Major Crowd Trouble Delay Play At Upton Park

In the build up to, and during, the West Ham/Millwall match violence took hold in and around Upton Park.

One man was stabbed in the chest, and a BBC reporter has heard that a second stabbing has occured. Another fan said that his father had to receive medical attention after having a dart thrown at his head.

It's frustrating especially given that BBC Sport began preventing international visitors from even watching post-match football manager videos.

Crew @ San Jose….doubleheader night

The Black and Gold will travel to San Jose this weekend for what is called the Night of Champions. The Crew and San Jose Earthquakes will play the first MLS game ever at San Francisco's Candlestick Park. Following that match FC Barcelona and Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara will face off. Once again the Crew will be missing their leading scorer Guillermo Barros Schelotto as well as defender Frankie Hejduk.

FC Barcelona head to Seattle for second stop of US tour

Pep Guardiola gave his team an easy morning today as they prepared to leave Los Angeles after a successful 4 days. The team did not have to practice and instead made a trip to the Beverly Center for a little shopping before heading to the airport for the flight to Seattle.

Upon arrival the team went directly to their hotel where they rested before a light team training session to stretch out after the short flight.

Copa Oro: La lesión de Carlos Vela no es grave

En el partido de ayer de la Copa Oro entre nuestra selección mexicana contra Nicaragua, apenas en el minuto 5 Carlos Vela sale del partido por una lesión. De hecho en el medio tiempo, sale cargado por dos asistentes técnicos de Javier Aguirre.

Había un rumor que el mexicano había sufrido una fractura de peroné, pero en el Sitio oficial de la Femexfut aclaran cual es su lesión:

Carlos Vela, delantero de la Selección Mexicana quien tuvo que dejar el encuentro ante Nicaragua durante los primeros minutos del partido por una lesión, fue valorado en un hospital de San Francisco, donde, los primeros reportes señalan que se trata de una lesión muscular.

Following up on my post from Friday: San Francisco FC won the Apertura championship in Panama after defeating Chorrillo 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the final last night. The hero was San Francisco 'keeper William Negrete, who was substituted into the match by manager Rúben Guevara a minute before the end of the extra time period because of his expertise in saving penalties. US Open Cup Map 2009

To commemorate the occasion Bill Turianski and I have put together a map of the 32 teams entering at the first round stage and will be updating it as we go along.
