Southampton is Going to Die

A More Splendid Life 30 June @ 08:37 AM EST
I've always loved the Saints, and not just because of their nickname which for some reason consistently brought to mind a rag tag inner city basketball team from some seventies sports flick. Mostly I loved Southampton because Matt Le Tissier loved Southampton, a man who'd you pass by on the street without a thought, perhaps surmising he might be in security, or construction, but on the pitch could do things with the ball worthy of Zico. Word is the Saints could be bringing him back.

SoccerLens 12 May @ 08:53 AM EST

Calculators and collection buckets look to be the order of the day this summer as at least three football league clubs - Southampton, Stockport and Darlington - fight for their very existence. Southampton's Woes

Black Panther 24 April @ 08:05 AM EST
I haven't written much about one of my favorite teams, Southampton. But if you haven't heard things are looking dire for the right now. With 2 games left they're on they need at least a win and tie, and really 2 wins, to have a chance at avoiding relegation to League One (division 3). That in itself is pretty bad. 17 from Pompey for Harry to plunder

White Hart Pain 22 April @ 04:39 AM EST

Portsmouth have 17 players out of contract in the summer and I'm sure Harry must be monitoring at least a couple of them.

Here are the biggest names that look to be on their way out, most of them are past their best or just plain useless but we know Harry loves to take a punt on a bargain.

Nwankwo Kanu – The guy's got a hole in his heart, is injury prone and probably demands a much higher wage than his ability deserves.
