Sad weekend for British football as Nottingham Forest Owner Nigel Doughty was found dead in his home yesterday. He was 54. According to a statement released by the club, Doughty was found dead in his gym.

Some awfully sad news this afternoon folks.

According to the BBC, two girders buckled and part of a stand at FC Twente's Grolsch Veste stadium collapsed during redevelopment work this afternoon, killing one person instantly and injuring 'over a dozen' more with three treated at the scene and 10 more rushed to Enschede hospital.

I talked to Alexi Lalas the other day for an SI.com piece, a state of the union-type article on the U.S. national team. Funny thing, I told Alexi, I had this strange feeling that we'd done all this before.

And we had. About this time last year, I talked to Alexi about a similar piece – and the conversation went about the same way.
