Anfield Talk 14 November @ 11:16 AM EST
THE hardest thing to do in testing times, when adversity and animosity is mounting in equal
measure, is stick to your guns.
It's all too easy to fly off the handle the moment something is not going how you want it and it is
a sad indictment of the way football is in this day and age that everything must either be black or
white – grey areas no longer exist.

In this weekend of European action France really cranked it up a notch, a 5-5 draw between Lyon and
Marseille showed not only great attacking talent, but also defensive organisation.
In England, Hull City get an important win over Stoke City with a late winner by Vennegoor of
Hesselink, this win eases the pressure on Phil Brown, who was leading the sack race recently.

I think I may have discovered what West Ham's problem is.
Their poor results may indeed be symptomatic of some problems with the manager, who some are
suggesting is a leading contender for the sack race.
I think it is likely to have more to do with where the club focuses its attention, which it has to
be said does not appear to feature football that predominantly.

This week included two gigantic matches in world football, the North London Derby, Arsenal against
Tottenham, and Ajax against Feyenoord. Pellegrini is a bit safer at Madrid, and Benitez is moving
up the spots in the sack race. While Inter escape to the top of Serie A, seven points above second
place Juventus, Portsmouth start getting the three points needed to start moving up the Premiership
table.

Hull club officials had plenty of patience with boss Phil Brown over the last
year or so, even though the Tigers kept underachieving, but they have finally decided to sack him
if the team remain in the relegation zone after the next two rounds. Those of you who were
insightful enough to place a bet on Brown to win the Premiership sack race are
probably in for a nice betting bonus, while those of you thinking about doing that now should know
the betting is suspended.

This weekend was full of action, not only were there big games between top tier teams, but some
matches were just as important for the other teams.

In England, the weakened Liverpool side that was ready to crack overcomes Manchester United winning

Portsmouth Vs Tottenham Tickets Still Available!
For reasons that we have yet to establish at the time of writing, Harry Redknapp has shot to
favourite in the next Premier League manager to go market. He is at 7/4, with Paul Hart languishing
behind in the sack race at 3/1.

Just over half a dozen games in and the Premier League is beginning to take shape. There have
already been some heavyweight clashes with the newly oil rich Man City upsetting Big 4 stalwarts
Arsenal while Spurs' flying start was kept in check by Manchester United and Chelsea. With the
electric Fernando Torres leading the line Liverpool have steadied the ship after a nervy start and
last year's pretenders, Aston Villa, have picked up useful points despite not fully hitting top
form yet.

The first three Premiership rounds have generated a lot of excitement and even though it is
still early in the season, some things are clearer after we have seen the teams play.
Premiership sack race is as interesting as ever, but Rafa Benitez
has, surprisingly or not, emerged as the hot favourite after Liverpool lost two of
the first three league games, while Paul Hart and Phil Brown were among the candidates even before
the season started.

subject RUMOR:Osorio probably to last rest of season and a hitler vs nyrb video
im not sure if this information qualifies to be posted on your website but i have a friend who
works with the red bull company and he says that in austria, they will keep osorio until the end of
the season because it wont be "profitable" for the team to have a new coach late in the season
before they sack osorio from his position.

Bryan Gunn after 90 minutes of the new league season, a 7-1 home hammering by Colchester. Here are
the Canaries in better days beating Bayern Munich at the Olimpiastadion in the 1993 UEFA Cup with

We received this earlier today. Not surprisingly it would appear Juan Carlos Osorio's days probably
can be counted on one hand.

In light of Kansas City dismissing manager Curt Onalfo yesterday evening, I figured it was high
time I updated my coaching hot seat look once again. Funny thing was yesterday I was already set to
work on this and got caught up in something else, by the time I went back into it last night the
news came down about Onalfo.

When looking on paper one would thick that Red Bull New York's Juan Carlos Osorio or FC Dallas's
Schellas Hyndman might have won the sack race. Ah, but the sack race does not play out on paper but
in board rooms. Here's the press release from Kansas City/MLSNet:
The Kansas City Wizards announced Monday that the team has dismissed Head Coach Curt
Onalfo.

- Panama has lost in close matches each of the last two Gold Cups to the United States. In 2005
it was in the PK shootout in the final, and in 2007 it was 2-1 on a controversial PK call against
the Panamanians.

Some things in life are inevitable; Politicians will never win popularity contests. You will
always have a soft spot for your first love. Police officers will look more and more like
15-year-olds the older you get and football managers will be sacked.
The demand for instant success ensures most managers will be sacked several times, with only two
or three of them escaping the experience.

We could have, we should have, but we didn't. Not just a quick summary of the Arsenal game but in
some ways a summary of the the season, and of the past couple of decades really. We are always on
the verge of achieving something, unfortunately this year its avoiding relegation, but somehow lack
the mental energy to pull it off.

It's no secret that Alan Curbishley is the bookmaker's favourite in their Premier League 'Sack
Race' market, something that no manager wants to win. West Ham's 4-1 victory over Macclesfield has
done little to end speculation that the Hammers boss is living on borrowed time, especially as the
Premier League .

PREMIER League chief Richard Scudamore has today announced that he plans to make the Premier League
sack race an Olympic event by 2012. Scudamore is currently lobbying IOC members to add the Premier
League sack race to the bloated list of pointless Olympic events that nobody really gives two tiny
squirts of piss about.

Managerial "Sack Race"EDP24 "...The bookmakers don't rate [Norwich] City's chances for promotion this season - and
one company has him down as a 16-1 shot to be the first Championship manager to be sacked this
season.
Roeder is rated at 16-1 to get the elbow from Carrow Road, although it's another former West Ham
manager, Alan Pardew, who SkyBet reckon could be the first to pick up his P45.

The Offside 15 August @ 03:13 PM EST
It's a bit of a Premier League predict-o-rama on The Offside today. I've already taken a shot at
what the final 2008/9 Premiership table will look like (or more likely won't) and Chris has weighed
up the likely winners and losers in the sack race (if the sack race actually has winners.) But now
it's [.

honest its The Sun, so i read the London Times and i find out its true... Jose has left Chelsea. I
honestly spit out my coffee i was shocked out of all the managers he was probably one of the last i
would have expected to win the sack race.
