Different coach, same old inconsistency.

That was the story Tuesday night as Argentina slumped to a 1-0 defeat away to Venezuela in the second round of 2014 World Cup qualifying in South America. Despite replacing coach Sergio Batista after a poor performance at the 2011 Copa America, Argentina once again struggled against a lesser opponent under new coach Alejandro Sabella.

El defensor Fernando Amorebieta le ofreció a Venezuela la primera victoria de su historia contra Argentina, al imponerse por 1-0, que le devuelve la ilusión al completarse la segunda jornada de las Eliminatorias para el Mundial de Brasil 2014.
Amorebieta, del Athletic Club de Bilbao español, encontró con su cabezazo a los 61 minutos el tanto que le dio los tres puntos a los dirigidos por César Farías.

Carlos Tevez está de vacaciones en Buenos Aires y aprovechó la entrevista que le hizo el programa Minutos 0, que se emite por Fox Sports, para contar su versión de lo sucedido en la Copa América. También respaldó a Lionel Messi y aclaró que luchará por un lugar en la Selección, aunque afirmó que tiene que ir el que mejor rendimiento tenga.

Nicholas Otamendi might have gotten Argentina the win with the match's only goal. But it was Leo Messi all the way and by some distance. He whipped in the corner that led to the centre back's first goal for the Albiceleste. This was Alejandro Sabella's debut and he must have been glad the little maestro was at hand to pull the strings.
