Here are some more stats for you as the Wizards season is now over. Unfortunately most of them are
depressing. You'll be seeing more stats this week as I get the information finalized.
KC scored 33 goals this season, tying the 99 and the 01 Wizards for the lowest scoring team in
Wizards history.

I decided not to comment on our 2-0 loss against Chivas since my arguments are the same as the
Houston tie except for the Zoltan goal. This week we didn't even score and it would seem that
playing those players in a slump (Wolff, Arnaud, Jewsbury) has brought nothing good.
The game did have a horrible offside non-call on the first Chivas goal, but in all honesty
should be blamed on the assistant and not the ref (Mike Kuhn has all the evidence, and the video is
clear also).

Another week with your former Wizards update. The USL season is almost over with the finals coming
up this next week. The MLS season as well is starting to get close to the end of the season. We do
have a first time appearance for Chris Konopka as he made his debut for Sporting Fingal.
MLS
Nick Garcia - Toronto FC - Toronto did not play this week.

STARTERSUgh - The USA U20 team laid another egg at the World Cup. Losing 3-0 to South Korea. And again they
looked quite inept on the green. Strange team. Horrible in game 1, very good in game 2, horrible in
game 3.

With most former Wizards outside of USL off this week due to the international break, there wasn't
a whole lot going on, but a few players did make their appearance worth it.

Taylor Graham - Seattle Sounders FC - Seattle did not have a game this week.

Time for this week's weekly update on former Wizards. A few goals were scored this week, but
overall not a good week for MLS former Wizards, as the majority did not even get games for their
teams this weekend. Also, check out the end of this post, as I'm listing the players that I believe
are still playing, but do not know where they are at now.

Another week of former Wizards updates. We have the return of a former Wizard, as it appears that
Edson Elcock has returned to the game, joining Yomby William again at Richmond. We also have the
appearance of another former Wizard who is not playing any more. Dionysius Sebwe, who the Wizards
drafted in 1996, is now a Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Defense in Liberia.

A good week for many former Wizards, as Stephen Armstrong and Ryan Pore both scored multiple goals
this past week, Eddie Johnson seems to have gotten himself a place as a sub on Fulham's bench, and
Khari Stephenson is trying to add another cup winner's medal to his 2004 US Open Cup medal. More of
the European leagues are kicking off.

Here's this week's former Wizards update. We have the return of one of our Fall-Spring season
former Wizards to play, as Matt Taylor and FSV Frankfurt started their season in the DFB Pokal. We
also have news that looks like it will effect two former Wizards, as the Argentine league has
suspended the Apertura season.

It was one of those night that the soccer gods had intended in their destiny in order to make a
statement to a Friday night crowd of about 400 fans at Florida International University

It was a match between two teams looking to continue trends as second-place Portland (8-1-7 31 pts.

The Islanders and the Portland Timbers drew 1-1 on Friday night at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium,
to keep both teams tied in 5th place of the USL-1 standings with identical 2-3-1 [W-T-L]

The Islanders, whose promising start included wins against their Canadian nemeses Vancouver
Whitecaps and Montreal Impact, are now winless with two 1-1 ties (one with Austin) and a loss to
Vancouver in their last 3 matches.

In some weird, nonsensical way Rochester Rhinos are the LA Galaxy of USL1. In the late 90's/early
2000's they were the "model franchise" that won championships and trophies (3 league titles and the
US Open Cup between 1998-2001) and seemed destined to take their club to a higher level, that level
being Major League Soccer.

Not any huge news today, but there are a few interesting bits of information out there about the
Wizards and former Wizards today.
First dealing with current Wizards.
There's not a big mention of this, but the Star did mention today in an article about Jack
Jewsbury, that Wizards midfielder, Herculez Gomez will miss a month of training due to an injury.

Back in November, when Don Garber announced the smaller roster sizes, and thus the elimination of
the reserve league, I personally was disappointed, as now instead of the Wizards reserve players
getting games against other professional players, those players will now have to get basically all
their games from local college teams or PDL teams, not exactly the best way to develop talent.

Along with today's expansion draft that saw Tyson Wahl head to Seattle, the Wizards waived 3
players today as well. The casualties are Ryan Pore, Carlos Marinelli, and Ivan Trujillo.
Pore was drafted in the second round of the 2005 MLS draft, a Generation Adidas player, Pore had
led the nation in scoring at Tulsa.

Good luck to you Tyson--except against KC.
Today, the Wizards lost defender Tyson Wahl to Seattle Sounders FC in the expansion draft and
waived forwards Ryan Pore and Ivan Trujillo and midfielder Carlos Marinelli. Good luck Tyson in
Seattle and the other three in their future endeavors. We appreciate their efforts here in KC and
wish them nothing but the best.

Two first half goals by Ryan Pore were enough to lead the KC Wizards reserves to a victory over the
Chicago Fire this evening at Community America Ballpark, after the first team game against the
Fire. Thanks to a season ticket holder perk, I was able to watch the game from the
"expensive" seats field side, and sample the Wizards' Drop Kick Ale that they have.

Ryan Pore led the team to the win.

Sorry for the delayed post, here's the release about the match. On the Marinelli goal, I've seen
elsewhere that Souter scored, but the refs said the initial fumble by Edwards went over the line
and Souter pushed it in afterward. Enjoy the rest of the rundown.

The KC Wizards reserves had no problem taking down the Toronto FC reserves this morning out at the
Wizards Swope Park training complex. Ivan Trujillo had a hattrick as the reserves beat Toronto 6-0
today. The first half for the game was fairly quiet, as the Wizards and Toronto didn't have many
great chances.

The Wizards played a friendly today at their Swope Park training complex against the U-23 Arkansas
Wizards. Hillcrest Road has a more indepth write up on the game. The Wizards, though, had no
problem taking out their Arkansas counterparts, as they beat them 13-0. All healthy Wizards players
got into the game and most played a half.

The reserve division stats on MLSnet are incomplete for both 2005 and 2007; the pdf's for those
seasons only go up to a certain point in the season. The former is only missing the final four
games, but the latter is missing a huge chunk of the season, so I had to go through each match
report and add up things by hand.

The Wizards reserve players topped UMKC easily this morning out at the Swope Park training center,
8-1. The game was as close as it was, as the reserves dominated the performance for long stretches
of the game. Here's how the reserves started out:
Kronberg
Myers - McMahen - Wahl - Watson
Marinelli - Souter - Morsink - Espinoza
Pore - Trujillo
The scoring started early, as in the 9th minute, Kevin Souter overlapped Carlos Marinelli, who
backhealed the ball as he went by.

Thad over at The Back Post has the story. It looks like Onalfo is going to be switching things up
this weekend with Chivas coming to town on Saturday. Roger Espinoza, Kurt Morsink, and Ryan Pore
are dropped in favor of Josh Wolff, Kerry Zavagnin, and rookie Matt Marquess. So we can expect
something like this on Saturday it looks like.

The reserves were able to get something out of the trip to DC this weekend, as the league leaders
took down second place DC United 4-2 this morning to increase their lead on top of the division.
Ryan Pore opened the scoring from the penalty spot, after Nelson Pizarro was fouled in the box.
Early in the second half, the Wizards doubled their lead, when Kevin Souter, let loose a bomb that
curled into the corner.

Our reserve squad turned in an impressive performance today against D.C. United's, winning 4-2 at
the RFK Auxiliary Field. Below is a write-up from DCU's press dude Kyle Sheldon. He summed it up
pretty well, so I won't try to squeeze it in before catching the bus to the airport. Note: Souter's
goal was an absolute BOMB to start the second half.
