This post will not contain a full play-by-play, but will cover the three Americans I'm presuming
will all start (today's Postcard From Europe, a follow-up historical stats report dedicated
exclusively to the goalies, has been delayed for this result). It should also retain the full usual
measure of snark.
This is the type of junk I come up with on a typical day watching Americans play:Aston Villa really
does have one of the most underrated youth/reserve set-ups around. That probably explains how
they've finished sixth or better in the Prem nine times in the last 16 seasons and haven't been
relegated since 1987.
You all know the words. Fulham's Clint Dempsey converted from close range near the hour to give the
visitors a 1-1 share at arch nemesis Chelsea. Since we've taken to running numbers on Deuce this
year, let's break down the tally:It was his first ever at Stamford Bridge, his second in five
career Boxing Day derbies, his sixth league goal of the season (marking the fifth straight season

A regular NSC email-writer just jokingly asked me how long it took to research the assists portion
of today's Running The Numbers edition of Postcard From Europe, kindly suggesting I may have some
treatable psycho-soccer disorder.A: Best I can recall/estimate, somewhere between nine and a dozen

never have any use for - and never wished to know. Will did grouping one, we split the keepers and
I handled the final tally. That all said, let's digitize...THE BIG DANCEEvery fall, we look at the
UEFA cup fields, picking out the Americans and wondering what barriers they can break next.
Now that he's back in MLS, can Freddy Adu grill opponents up and serve them on a roll to MLS Cup?
As he gets set top debut against FC Dallas tonight, that seems a bit much to ask with such a young
team. However, I think it's a good fit, I know he's grown a lot and I believe he will come correct
with Philly - who currently are next to last in the league in shots on goal.
I've been asked to describe exactly what was on that Top 5 pizza picture: it was cherry tomatoes,
yellow onions, fresh basil, mozzarella and what I call "risotto chicken" (as in the
buttery/Parmesan/garlic flavor of risotto I had in Italy sautéed onto chicken) with pesto butter
on the edge crust. I like a flavorpalooza.
