The Serie A's Golden Bin nominations have been revealed and i am quite surprised to see who made
the list. Once again Juventus dominates the list with Felipe Melo ( who i thoroughly agree should
be on the list) and Milos Krasic making the cut.
Others who made the list include Luca Toni, Amauri, Diego Milito, Diego Forlan, Mauro Zarate,
Adrian Mutu, Santiago Silva of Fiorentina and Eduardo from Genoa.
It isn't anyone's idea of a dream final – certainly not Eurosport's Tim Caple. But this
Under-20s World Cup hasn't been a dream tournament. Defensive Portugal against counter-attacking
Brazil is something of a representation of what we have seen in Colombia over the last three weeks.
And the ball could – should, in theory – spend long periods of the final untouched and unloved
in the centre circle, as both teams sit back for their contrasting reasons.
Mexico had a great day yesterday, winning another game in a very sensational way securing the
victory at the closing seconds of the game to beat Uruguay 2-0 and win the under 17 World Cup for
the second time in its history.
We saw Mexico and Uruguay surpassing Germany and Brazil.
Liverpool have officially announced an agreement with Andy Carrol for £35m (€41m) plus
bonuses. Deep breath.
To put this in perspective, he's now the 18th most expensive outlay in the history of football,
just between Ballon d'Or winner Pavel Nedved and World Cup winner David Villa. That's a good place
for Carroll's 14 top-flight goals, solitary international cap and the big bread winner, his English
birth certificate.
