FUNK SAYS SORRY FOR CUP STUFFING.SCARBOROUGH Athletic manager Rudy Funk apologised to the
fans after last night's dismal 5-1 North Riding Cup defeat at the hands of Guisborough
Town.Funk's heavily altered side were comfortably second best on the night, but the Borop
chief did manage to grab a positive or two.
Boss Rudy Funk decided to give some fringe players a run out in this game, and although it is a
fairly minor competition, I could not believe the 5-1 scoreline.
Boro were 4-1 down at half time, and fell even further behind on the hour as Town's David
Onion's added his team's 5th goal.
It is the 2nd round of the North Riding Senior Cup tomorrow night (Tuesday) and Boro are home to
Guisborough Town in the competition.
This is a minor competition and I personally feel that the £7 admission fee will deter many
fans from attending.
Plus the fact that Rudy is unlikely to field a full strength side and the late 8.
Sadly I missed seeing the first goal from Dean Windass in a Boro league game, but no doubt now
that he has broke his duck many more goals will follow from the ex Hull City star. I was in London for the weekend seeing the fantastic stage play "Warhorse", and I want to say
if you get the chance then go and see this show at the New London Theatre, it is fantastic.
RUDY'S ARTICLE FROM TONIGHT'S LOCAL PAPER.SCARBOROUGH Athletic chief Rudy Funk has promised
to ring the changes after hIs side's disappointing defeat last night.Funk was less than happy with
a number of his team's displays during the 2-1 home loss against title-rivals Staveley. He said: "
I'm not happy with it because we just seemed to go through the motions.
A strange game last night at a bitterly cold Queensgate, Boro didn't really show until the 2nd
half, they missed the midfield bite of Gary Hepples who was on the bench, when he did eventually
join the game with just 20 minutes left then his presence told immeditely but it was too late in
the game to have the desired effect.
16.11.2011 - Con gol de
Oswaldo Vizcarrondo (´25), Venezuela venció (1-0) a Bolivia
Nice article from the local paper giving boss Rudy Funk's opinions on the Retford v
Boro match.
SCARBOROUGH Athletic boss Rudy Funk was delighted with his side's
last-gasp point on the road at NCEL Premier title challengers Retford United. He said: " I'm
delighted, but it is nothing more than we deserved .
MANY BORO FANS ARE TALKING OF BOYCOTTING THE MUCH TALKED ABOUT
PARKGATE GAME TOMORROW EVENING FOLLOWING THE ANTICS OF THE CLUB IN PREVIOUS GAMES AND THE UNFAIR
FINE PLACED ON OUR CLUB FOLLOWING THE FANS REACTIONS TO THE DIABOLICAL WAY THE GAME WAS
REFEREED.
THE CLUB WAS HIT WITH AN UNFAIR FINE OF £160, MOST OF THIS AMOUNT
HAS ALREADY BEEN RAISED BY FANS AT THE AWAY MATCH AT THACKLEY ON SATURDAY AND WILL BE GIVEN TO THE
CLUB TO PAY THE FINE.
Boro were a completely different class to their West Yorkshire based opponents today, no
disrespect to Thackley who are a decent side, but today they could not live with the brilliance of
Boro. After today's performance I cannot imagine Rudy leaving Gary Hepples out of his future starting
line-up's, once again Gary was my man of the match, he rightly regained his place today at the
expense of Dean Windass, who was on the subs bench.
AT A VERY WINDY QUEENSGATE SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC STUTTERED TO A 2-1 VICTORY AGAINST A FAIRLY
CAPABLE LOOKING HALL ROAD RANGERS OUTFIT.
BORO STARTED THE GAME IN A CONVINCING MANNER BUT THIS ROBUST START WAS TO BE SHORTLIVED AS IT
WAS RANGERS WHO WOULD HAVE THE LIONS SHARE OF POSSESSION THROUGHOUT THE OPENING FORTY FIVE
MINUTES.
Following the diabolical refereeing from Mr D Hunt, which cost us dearly at Parkgate last
Saturday, Boro boss Rudy Funk gave his opinions on the day in the local paper, here is the article
which I think just sums up the true feelings held by everyone connected to the club, I honestly
think that we are been targeted as a club, unfairly so, and I speak as an ex referee when I say
that the officials in this league are mainly very poor, and generally just not up to the standards
required.
Like many Boro fans I was looking forward to seeing Dean Windass in a Boro shirt today, and as I
arrived at the ground I was told that Dean was in fact included in today's Boro' squad. The Boro starting line up was Martin, Winters, Miller, Kemp, Hackworth, Naylor, Law, Hepples,
Blott, Bernard, Ghaichem.

While the Europeans were getting close to the end of their Euro 2012 qualifying adventures,
across the Atlantic, the South Americans were only just kicking off their World Cup qualifying
campaign.
In a six-goal thriller in a rainy Montevideo, buck-toothed assassin Luis Suarez got foxy in the

Some Chicago sports fans need a refresher course that the 1980s were not completely centered on
Mike Ditka's 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears and the phenomenon of Michael Jordan.
The Chicago Sting was the toast of this city at the start of the decade, winning North American
Soccer League crowns in 1981 and 1984.
This time of year, we're used to watching NBA preseason action. However, with the NBA lockout
putting things on hold, we'll have to settle for exhibition games of another sort. But there's an
interesting one being put together that will take place on the campus of Florida International
University on October 8th.
Ignore Rudy and the Barca v. Madrid love-in. Check out that little nugget in the bottom left
corner of the cover. That's what we need to be concerned with.
Juan on Juan
While today's front of Marca focused on this small matter of a Spanish Super Cup,
rightfully so, there was some information on a potential bid from Chelsea for Valencia winger Juan
Mata.
Seeing Kenny Miller pounce with alacrity on Rudy Gestede's cut back at Upton Park yesterday,
despite the fact that the pass was a little behind him, reminded me of the dangers of writing off
seasoned strikers. A couple of weeks ago, I was told to don my tin hat by esteemed Oval Log blogger
Stefan Bienkowski after suggesting that Miller was "a poor man's Craig Bellamy" and if it's
unlikely that
inicia.

Another look back at the Sting's 1981 season from FireStingDoug:
On May 10, 1981 the Sting won their third game in a row after sweeping a home and home series
with Dallas. A 5-0 win at Wrigley Field saw Rudy Glenn score twice while Karl-Heinz Granitz, Pato
Margetic, and Greg Ryan provided the other tallies.
Back when the Boston Celtics traded Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder, we said it
was a horrible trade. So far, it looks like we were right. Bill Simmons, in a recent podcast for
ESPN, seems to have come to the same conclusion. He blames the Celtics recent struggles on the
trade. Losing Kendrick Perkins, he says, has ruined team chemistry and has made the Celtics a lot
softer.
Netherlands U-21s 1-3 Germany U-21s
Zeefuik (45')
Lasogga (27'), Rudy (46'), Holtby (65')
The youth teams are setting the stage nicely for their older (or, in some cases, just better...)
brothers with some lovely victories. I managed to catch some of the U-21 match against the
Netherlands yesterday, and I'm glad I did.
