Copa Libertadores 2012 Property of Brazil? is a post from: Just Football
South America's flagship competition, the Copa Libertadores, is up and running
for another season with the group stages kicking off this week. 32 of Latin America's finest will
compete to succeed Santos as champions, and thanks to the increasing strength of
the Brazilian economy and the country's increasing ability to keep hold of and attract their finest
countrymen, Brazil is once considered the trophy's most likely destination come the final in
July.
Sack Vanderlei Luxemburgo or part ways with Ronaldinho? That was the choice Flamengo president
Patricia Amorim had to make yesterday as she picked the star player over the 59 year old
tactician.
It is not quite certain why Luxemburgo was sacked, however, many believe that his icy
relationship with Ronaldinho was a major factor that led to his dismissal.
Though Ronaldinho hasn't been paid in months, a new deal has been reached to ensure he gets what
he's owed, he's still training with Flamengo and still focused on getting results for the club. And
as Flamengo head into the second leg of their Copa Libertadores tie trailing Real Potosi (who share
a ground with Nacional Potosi, of recent scorpion kick fame) 2-1, Ronaldinho was
uncharacteristically serious in training on Tuesday.
It's been 7 days since the beginning of the Dragon Year – and here we are 7 points ahead of Barca
in the league table. Our 3-1 over Zaragoza and Barca's 0-0 (their first scoreless game in 15
matches) made sure of that. In a league where the margins of error between a league title or a
bridesmaid finish is a hairline, 7 points is gold – it gives us that all-important precious
margin for error: to account for that somewhat inevitable match that will see us drop points
against a Levante, Sporting or.
Brazil's master of funk dance and part-time footballer, Neymar, has expressed
interest in playing at this year's London Olympics. Strange, considering the fact that Brazilians
don't particularly care for this tournament! At Beijing 2008, heads rolled when
Ronaldinho and co' picked up a bronze medal instead of gold.

First he was great and thin then fat and great and now Gaucho is back to looking like his old
self. For those who thought dinho's best days were behind him, guess again.
The 31 year old has lost more than 80kgs (or so i could be wrong) to get back to his lean
physique and if you don't believe me, take a look at these pictures.
Former Barcelona defender and current New York Red Bulls player Rafael Marquez has hit the
streets for Red Bull literally. The Mexican international took to the streets of Mexico City to
show off his accuracy and football talent as he performed trick shots throughout the capital.

Marcos, goalkeeper of the Brazilian team who won the World Cup 2002, announced his retirement,
at age 38. He retires after a career of 20 years, playing only for one team: Palmeiras; the team
informed that no other player will wear jacket #12, the one Marcos used to wear; also, there plans
of building an statue of Marcos to be planted at the stadium of Palmeiras.
After much posturing, debate and media assumptions it seems David Beckham has made the decision not
to move to Paris-St. Germain for 2012. The club's sporting direct Leonardo has told the media that
the club's pursuit of the star is "finished".
Leonardo was the manager of AC Milan during Beckham's loan there in 2010.
With the New Year come and gone, it's time to start looking forward to the 2012 season. Soon the
training camp will open and all of the Timbers players will once again resume training ahead of the
2012 season. More than that, though, there are still more than a few open positions available on
the Timbers roster so it will be interesting to see who comes in and who goes (if anybody).
I did not want to believe it at first, but it seems like the rumours about AC Milan striker
Alexander Pato joining French Club PSG are true. I am a big of the 22 year old Brazilian striker
and feel that Milan would be making a big mistake if they let him go.
To be honest, i feel that if something is not done immediately about Allegri's coaching tactics,
then even more stars will end up leaving the club.
Good article on MLSsoccer.com about Gavin Wilkinson and his travels abroad. I think we all
already knew this, but he pretty much spelled it out that we're going to see a couple new faces
this off season from abroad which shouldn't be surprising given the amount of scouting he's been
doing in recent months.

Is Freddy Adu already thinking about returning to Europe?
A report from SI titled "Adu to train with Spanish club with eye on move" says Rayo Vallecano
sporting director Felipe Minambres told The Associated Press on Thursday, "This is the first step,
that he comes and trains and gets to know us and the club, and we get to know him.

Although Thierry Henry's recent stint at Arsenal was technically just for training, rumors
continue to swirl that Arsene Wenger is considering offering the former Arsenal striker a
short-term contract. Some reports stipulate that a two-month loan has already been offered to the
New York Red Bulls forward.
2011 Year of the Neymar is a post from: Just Football
He struts with the cocksure swagger of a born star and not only that, he can play a bit too.
2011 can be seen as the year Neymar truly broke through on the world stage.
Just Football's man in Brazil Paulo Freitas looks back at the year of the mohawked
one:
Neymar has been hyped since he was a youth player, but he finally established himself as
Brazil's new big star in the 2011 season, shining in most competitions.
Stephen Ireland wouldn't dare forget to bring his snakeskin pants to Ronaldinho's next pyjama
party...would he?
If you think this is good, just wait.
It gets better.
Saturday
- We offered our steamiest congrats to Barcelona's Victor Valdes, who received the Catalan
Athlete of the year award.

Peter Nowak answered questions from reporters via tele-conference on Thursday on the club's
recent signings. See our report, published on Thursday night, for an overview of what was
discussed. Also, look for a second report from the press conference later this morning for more
quotes and analysis, particularly in regards to how the team plan to handle the number of
internationals now on the roster and the status of Keon Daniel.
As you think about David Beckham – Will he? Won't he? Where did his love for us go? – and
whether he'll keep the Good Ship Becks docked in Don Garber Harbor, let's talk quickly about
shifting values and diminishing returns.
In a way, Beckham and the attached regiments of Brand Beckham
are no different than any other goods, like a camera, a coffee maker or those awful and gaudy
Christmas sweaters.
It's Christmas week... la semana de Navidad! In the Premiership,
however, life goes on for Kun Aguero and co', who scored in City's 3-0 victory
over Aston Villa last night. Kun scored a brace, and the goal celebrations had
everything except Dani Alves' brilliant Santa hat.
The Philadelphia Union have been busy in the last year as they attempt to bring in talent from
around the world, with Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago as two key locations of interest for the
team. According to a player agent, the Union have continued to look at Trinidad and Tobago for new
players, despite the recent release of former backup and third string goalkeeper Thorne Holder, and
the still unknown situation of Keon Daniel's work visa.
Blackburn Rovers have been hit with a massive blow on the injury front after defender Scott Dann
was ruled out for six weeks after rupturing his testicles. Dann sustained the freak groin injury
during Saturday's 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at Ewood Park which left Blackburn second
bottom in the table after 16 games.

The last time Milan entertained Siena before the Tuscans' visit to the Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday
night was on January 17, 2010. That was the game that Ronaldinho, for me, showed his best in the
red and black. A superb hat-trick, one from the spot, one off his head and an absolute
wonder-strike in the [.
It's nothing we haven't seen before Brazilian star Ronaldinho's biggest headlines in recent months
have come not from his performances on the pitch, but his performances on his webcam. As such, the
Flamengo man came in for a lot of pre-match verbal from the crowd ahead of his side's match against
Vasco Da Gama last [.
cronologicamente.
Less than 24 hours is left for the start of the first edition of this season's "El Clasico"
encounter in the La Liga. Usually this would have been the first meeting between the two giants of
not only Spanish football, but World Football. But this year they have already met twice in the two
legged Super Copa clash and Barca had emerged deserving winners at the time.

Presenting, the ten best goals (that I could find corresponding videos for) scored during the El
Clasico fixture since the dawn of time. To be perfectly honest, they're just ten fine goals the
order is more or less superfluous.
10. Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid, 2001/2.

Ewoodstock Blackburn Rovers' owners aimed to take the stung out of their supporters' anger by
hosting a free R&B concert for them at the start of the season. Fans were already angry at the
performance of owners Venky's and manager Steve Kean before their appalling start to the current
campaign. Now The Guardian has seen [.
If you've read the Ronaldinho-highlight-reel-related news these past days, it's possible you're
still suffering the painful ramifications of bleach in one's eyes. Things ain't exactly what they
used to be.
For those of us who choose to remember Dinho at his best or with pants on he had a little fun at
training over the weekend, offering up his special skills.
Former Barcelona and AC Milan star Ronaldinho who now plays for Brazilian club Flamengo has not
been paid for the last 4 months and according to his brother who also doubles up as his agent,
Gaucho is starting to lose patience with the club.
It is known the exact amount Dinho is paid every week, but it is believed to be in the region of
£95,000.

enredereza.
Hey, it's Thanksgiving week in the States ... meaning the comings-and-goings of the Premier League
take a backseat to turkey and gravy, that is unless you're Frank Lampard! (See, get it, he's
allegedly 'fat'.)Wait, let's get a take two on punchline.Unless you're ... Ronaldo?Ronaldinho?Eh,
let's just move on.
Juan Mata's seen** Ronaldinho's video. Have you? **Actually, Juan was at the ATP Tour Finals at the
O2 Arena, but this is the expression we pulled before falling to our knees when we saw the infamous
vid. It seemed fitting. Image: Julian Finney/Getty Images.
The week started as a soap opera, segued gently through fantasy into fashion commentary before
coming to rest in Xabi Alonso's shorts.
