Milan show signs of progress

Futbolita 05 November @ 05:00 AM EST

Despite the plethora of Champions League games available to me this week I flicked my sports channel over to the game in Milan to see whether the Milanistas could re-create their spectacular victory in the Bernabeu two weeks ago. And, despite their failure to upset the football betting odds and re-enact their Madrid heroics following 90 scrappy but passionate minutes, there were still signs that they have turned the corner.

As I let you know back when I posted up this year's FFT100, I'm a bit of a junkie for lists. They are utterly meaningless, and yet compelling at the same time. Champions League – Matchday 4 Results

See The Cup 04 November @ 05:17 PM EST

Another round. Games working out as predicted except for Man U 3 3 CSKA Moscow which I really thought would go to Manchester. And of course Barcelona's inability to beat Kazan but they were not playing at home (if that even serves as an excuse!). The big derby AC Milan vs. Real Madrid turned out quite well even with teh 1-1 tie (and I see a light in the dark for Ronaldinho there is hope).

Why Brazil Failed in the U17 World Cup

See The Cup 03 November @ 11:45 PM EST

The same way the U20 World Cup generated some analysis, the failure of the U17 deserves even more talk. First of all, being eliminated in group that had Mexico, Switzerland and Japan is a shame. There is simply no excuse.

This pathetic elimination was so bad that no projections for the future can be made.

Goals of the Week: Giornata 11

The Offside: Italy 03 November @ 11:32 AM EST

A few nice goals this week, but nothing extraordinary. Giuseppe Mascara scored one of his trademark wonder-goals, and Marco Borriello got back on the scoresheet with 2 goals (the second a nice scissor kick) after almost a year. Diego Milito got back to his scoring ways as well after being absent through injury, and Mirko Vucinic finally scored his first goal of the season.

Calcio, Serie A: Milan-Parma, le formazioni. Leonardo col dubbio Ronaldinho, Paloschi sfida i rossoneri
