Donetsk tell Manchester City: ‘You owe us half a million quid for Elano’

0
It's fair to say that the finances of Manchester City could be in better shape at the moment. Owner Thaksin Shinawatra has had his assets frozen by the Thai government, meaning they are no longer prepared to throw bucketloads of cash to land the likes of Ronaldinho, and are instead ... Worst Transfer Window Ever, and Premier League Wealth is to Blame

Is it just me, or has this transfer window just been punch yourself in the head awful? There are less than two weeks to go until the end of August and so far... almost nothing has happened. Robbie Keane has gone to Liverpool. Ronaldinho made his bargain move to Milan, and Rafael van der Vaart [...] Click to continue reading...

Ronaldinho (Second Half Olympics Argentina vs Brazil)
Originally uploaded by BSR-12 (Olympics semi-final, August 19, 2008)
Click to continue reading...

Argentina defeated Brazil 3-0 in the Olympic semifinals to earn a trip to the gold medal game against Nigeria. Sergio Aguero sends Argentina into gold contention

2
Sergio Aguero confirmed his status as one of the world's greatest talents when he sent Argentina through to the Olympic final in a 3-0 triumph at the expense of Brazil. Dunga's team were uninspiring for much of the semi-final but the convincing defeat ended their hopes of landing their maiden gold medal in the men's football at the Olympics. Ronaldinho following Ronaldo's downhill path

1
After watching the Olympic semi-final between Argentine and Brazil, I couldn't help but notice how poor Ronaldinho played. He was, without doubt the worst player on the pitch, and in my opinion should of been taken off at half-time.

He was simply on the pitch by reputation alone. About an hour into the game, Brazil took of Rafael Sobis and brought on Alexander Pato. Click to continue reading...

Olympic Men's Semis

The Olympic football has pretty much flown under the radar in the UK until today, with the powerhouses of Brazil, Argentina, Nigeria and, er.... Belgium all in action. Contrary to popular perception, players in the Olympics don't have to be amateur any more, but each team is only allowed to have 3 players over 23 in the squad, therefore creating a very youthful tournament. The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

The Good Brazilians in London: Yeah yeah, Portsmouth ain't exactly on their level, but Big Boss is going to be mighty pleased this season with Luiz & Deco running the show at Stamford Bridge. Brazil v. Argentina, Ronaldinho v. Messi: This is your Olympic Semi Final "Clash of the Titans Lite" Post

Sorry for the long title there - but this one should be a firecracker. Of course this is the U23 version of this South American derby, so it doesn't quite carry the significance of a World Cup qualifier, but both sides are wearing National Team colors and I suspect will be pushing at all costs for the opportunity to face Nigeria for Gold. Olimpiyat'ta Futbol

0
Click to continue reading...

As we've reported here previously, Standard Liege's American defender Oguchi Onyewu has drawn interest from FC Koeln, Fulham lately (not to mention Marseilles an Lazio back in January). Man City source claims ‘everyone’s a winner’ as defender nears £8 million move to Tottenham

So let's get this right. Mark Hughes is just about to lose one of his best players and he's actually happy about this prospect because it will give him more cash to spend on new signings? I thought it was appropriate to quote some Pink Floyd lyrics when looking at these 2 stores in the London Times. According to this article, the Gareth Barry deal has fallen through for the 342ns time this summer due to the unwillingness of Liverpool's owners to provide the funds to sign Barry.

This other article from the London Times describes how Harry Redknapp would like to try and mount a challenge on the bigger clubs, but isn't being given any additional funds to acquire the players that he needs to complete his squad. Click to continue reading...

Niente effetto domino attaccanti: anche Villa resta dov'è

0
Click to continue reading...
