Malaga and Accomodations

0

So tomorrow it's a match against Malaga at La Rosaleda Stadium in southern Spain.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about Malaga.

I know they just came up from the 2nd Division.
I know former Valencia striker Salva Ballesta sits bench there and Uruguayan striker Dario Silva scored bucket loads for them.

I never knew how hard it would be to keep this up for 30 straight days!
Alas, I've made my readers a promise, so on I chug.

Today's big news is ... umm ... there's really not much to say.

We all know about Silva's operation. Godspeed.
We have word that Valencia haven't elected a team captain yet.

Click to continue reading...

Mestalla Noisiest Stadium in Europe

1

While I could write about the Samuel Eto'o transfer rumors (yawn) or the possibility of Luis Aragones replacing Unai Emery as head coach (whatever ...), I thought this was infinitely more interesting ...

According to Setanta Sports, Valencia's Mestalla is Europe's noisiest stadium.

Q and A with David Albelda and News

1

David Albelda has been in football purgatory for some time now. He looks happy in the photo with Vicente, but it's been some time since he's smiled football-wise.

Since ex-gaff Ronald Koeman sprayed his scent around the Mestalla and fired Albelda, Santiago Canizares and Angulo, the three have been in limbo, neither here nor there.

David Albelda wants justice from Valencia

Valencia’s Miguel to White Hart Lane?

Mohamed Sissoko is a fall out boy at Liverpool but the 22-year old Malian international certainly seems to be in hot demand elsewhere. PSV get their man...

7
...but not before next season. At a news conference in Hamburg, Huub Stevens, the current coach of the Bundesliga's third-placed side said he would be returning home to the Netherlands at the end of this season to manage PSV Eindhoven. Stevens regretted leaving after just 1-1/2 seasons, but alluded to the fact that there are "there are more important things in life", which is a reference to his wife, who has been suffering through a chronic illness. Following up on my prior post on coaching changes, news has emerged today that yet another change has occured. Before John Arne Riise, there was Ronald Koeman

4
Ronald Koeman is a Dutch legend. The 1988 Dutch footballer of the year was devastating on free kicks and from distance on the run. The two-time European Cup champion's goalscoring rate was impressive for a striker, let alone a defender. Here is a video compilation of some of the current PSV Eindhoven coach's goals while with Barça. Enjoy. Warning: the music is really, really good. Click to continue reading...
