Michael Carrick will almost certainly start on Wednesday night as we take on CSKA Moscow in the
Luzhniki Stadium. Several players have been ruled out as unavailable but Carrick will be making the
trip to the stadium where we won the European Cup in 2008.
Carrick says that was the best day of his career but is still haunted by what happened in Rome a
year later.

Even putting troubles related for his failures as Argentina's coach aside, Maradona really isn't
doing so great at the moment. For one, he's checked himself into a clinic in order to lose weight
(this, of course, after he's already had gastric bypass surgery). And as if that weren't
demoralizing enough, for some reason he did so in Northern Italy where the finance police eagerly
await his return like your dog waits for you to come home.

Rio Ferdinand made his first league appearance of the season in the 3 – 1 victory over Spurs
on Saturday after recovering from a thigh injury sustained in training. His prolonged absence from
the team has given the United captain plenty of time to reflect and he has admitted he felt sick

Dimitar Berbatov is eager to put right the dismal experience of last season's Champions League

"After what happened in last year's final I think we're even more determined in Europe this
