Scoring against Manchester United is something many players dream of, but two Barnsley
fans invaded the pitch in the Carling Cup match last night against the Red Devil's and got to
experience that feeling...
2-0 down and only 3 added on minutes left of the match two of Barnsley's finest pinch the ball
off Ben Foster and the fat bald one has a great first touch before volleying home, to the Barnsley
fan's initial delight.

Big Story
England and the United States might be the favourites to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, but
both countries have hosted a World Cup before: a fact Russia are counting on as crucial in
their own bids. "Every tournament should be held in a country that has not previously hosted it,"

Scuola Calcio 29 September @ 08:00 PM EST
(ANSA) - Rome, September 29 - AS Roma on Tuesday unveiled plans to build a new
stadium on the outskirts of the Italian capital.
Roma President Rosella Sensi said the idea of the club having its own stadium, instead of renting
one from the city council, had ``always been at the centre`` of her late father Franco`s plans, as
well as those of another historic club president, Dino Viola.

'La rabona'. Talk to anyone who is into Italian football about Alberto Aquilani and that word is
bound to come up. It is how Italians describe an audacious bit of skill where a player backheals a
pass while running, a move that done well is likely to put any defence off balance.
Just as Aquilani did at the San Siro on the 11th of November of 2006.

Since his move to Manchester City, Emmanuel Adebayor has been intent on pissing off his
old fans from his old club. Here is the list so far and no doubt he will be adding to it in the
future...
1) When you score against your old side, run the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of your
old fans.

The above video is from a couple weeks ago, when the LA Galaxy were at DC's RFK Stadium, but I
just came across it. Galaxy forward Alan Gordon bet Davey Becks that he couldn't kick the ball
through the press box window above the "I" in the "TRAFFIC" sign.

This past weekend proved to be a big one for Diego and Inter, as Match Day 2 of the Serie A
2009-2010 season is in the books.
Earlier this year, before the big Kaka and Ronaldo transfers, Juventus managed to lure Diego away
from Werder Bremen, and that move paid of big time this weekend as the young Brazilian's brace gave
Juventus a 3-1 victory over a struggling Roma.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Liverpool have flown to Italy for talks with Roma about the
prospect of signing Alberto Aquilani.
Yesterday Roma fans staged a protest expressing their anger at the club's lack of activity in the
transfer market this summer.
As takeover talks come to a standstill and with no new investment in sight, Roma will have to sell
if they are to buy ahead of next season.

I'm sorry there was no Weekend Round-up this week, I was away for Memorial Day Weekend and then

Make no mistake this campaign for Roma has been as difficult as it has been disastrous.Spoiled by
continuous Champions league seasons Roma find that 2009-10 campaign will bear no Champions league
fruit. That is not the case with Europe though as Roma could still compete for Uefa cup spot if it
so choses.

The 30 th installment of the 08-09 Serie A season will be seen as a stunning day of comebacks and

I just finished reading this article on the Eurosport website warning Arsenal fans to stay away
from the Roma supporters in certain areas around the stadium in Rome prior to their Champions
League match tomorrow night. I'm not going to give my thoughts about the situation but I would
rather just share the love, the Soccer Love with a song, a soccer song expressing our love for the
game and the great fans that we all are, let the football music fill your soul and we will get
along just fine.

1. The stereotype is pretty much true.
The stereotype in Rome is that in the city of Rome most people are Roma fans, while Lazio fans
are all from the outskirts and from cities in the region of Lazio. For the most part, it's true, as
most people I encountered in Rome were Roma fans, with a few Laziali here and there.

Once again Reds supporters have been attacked and stabbed by cowardly knife wielding Italian scum
prior to the AS Roma vs. United game in Rome last night. We were led to believe this would not
happen again following the appalling scenes of last season when visiting fans were attacked by both
the locals and the police.
