Pandev missed an incredible opportunity moments later, his free header from a De Silvestri cross nodded on to the frame of the goal.

Bianchi departs a well trodden path

Rolando Bianchi has gone on loan to Lazio until the end of the season, with a view to joining the Rome club on a permanent deal afterwards.

The 24-year-old has struggled to adapt to the Premier League since arriving from Reggina last July, scoring four goals in 19 league appearances for the Blues.

Out-of-favour Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi has revealed he will consider his position at the club in December. The Italian, who was Sven Goran Eriksson's first signing as City boss, is frustrated at his lack of first team action.

The midfielder has joined from swiss club FC Sion, again the fee is undisclosed.

Healy in Fulham move

Northern Ireland striker David Healy has joined Fulham on a four-year deal from League One side Leeds United. The 27-year-old former Preston man is believed to have cost in the region of £2.5 million.

Healy, who learnt his trade at Manchester United, has the Northern Ireland goalscoring record of 29 goals in 56 games and nine so far in their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, making him the top scorer in Europe.

Sven-Goran Eriksson has sealed his first signing as Manchester City manager by clinching the transfer of Reggina striker Rolando Bianchi.The Italian has moved to Eastlands for an undisclosed fee which the Serie A club had previously claimed to be £8.8million.

Bianchi, 24, was the fourth highest scorer in Serie A last season with 18 goals, helping to keep Reggina in the top flight.

Sven-Goran Eriksson's first signing at Manchester City, the Italian club said on
Tuesday.
The 24-year-old scored 18 league goals last season as the Serie A
side avoided relegation despite an 11-point penalty for their role in Italy's
